About This Role
We are seeking a Facilities and Maintenance Technician to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for our patients and employees. If you are passionate about improving the patient experience through facility and maintenance coordination, you would be a great addition to our team.
Our location in Northbrook is our first and largest facility, and consists not only of our widest variety of programs, but also serves as a pilot site for many of our new treatment offerings.
Hours/Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:00am to 3:00pm

Training Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and operationally driven Training Specialist to design, coordinate, and deliver training programs for our U.S. new energy manufacturing facility. You will serve as the central hub for workforce capability building—covering production operators, maintenance technicians, quality inspectors, engineers, and expatriate staff—ensuring all programs align with OSHA, EPA, and industry-specific safety standards, while supporting our rapid operational ramp-up.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement onboarding, OJT (On-the-Job Training), and continuous upskilling programs for hourly and salaried employees across production, process engineering, quality, EHS, and warehouse logistics.
- Build role-based learning paths (e.g., Cell Assembly Technician → Senior Technician → Lead) with clear competency milestones and certification criteria.
- Deliver instructor-led training (ILT) and coordinate virtual/hybrid sessions; facilitate both classroom and shop-floor practical instruction.
- Partner with EHS, Quality, and Engineering to create and maintain mandatory training modules on:
- OSHA 10/30, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), confined space, hot work, and PPE protocols.
- Battery-specific safety: electrolyte handling, thermal runaway awareness, high-voltage safety, and hazardous material (hazmat) procedures.
- Quality systems: IATF 16949, ISO 9001, SPC, FMEA, and control plan fundamentals.
- Environmental compliance: EPA spill prevention, waste disposal, and stormwater protocols.
- Ensure 100% compliance training completion tracking and timely renewal reminders.
- Administer the Learning Management System (LMS); upload content, assign curricula, track completions, and generate monthly training dashboards for leadership review.
- Maintain training records in accordance with ISO standards, customer audit requirements, and state/federal labor regulations.
- Manage training logistics: scheduling, room/equipment booking, material printing, vendor coordination, and attendance tracking.
- Coordinate technical and cultural onboarding for China-expatriate engineers and managers, including basic workplace English, local safety norms, and U.S. labor culture orientation.
- Support reverse-assignment programs (e.g., U.S. blue-collar staff training at China HQ) by preparing pre-departure briefings and cross-cultural communication guides.
- Evaluate and manage external training vendors (e.g., community colleges, OSHA-authorized trainers, equipment OEM trainers).
- Prepare annual training budgets, track spend, and negotiate contracts to optimize cost per employee.
- Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) via surveys, supervisor interviews, and skills-gap assessments.
- Measure training effectiveness through Kirkpatrick Level 1–3 evaluations (reaction, learning, behavior) and iterate curriculum accordingly.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 3+ years of training or L&D experience in a manufacturing environment; new energy, automotive, or battery industry strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of building shop-floor technical training for blue-collar and skilled-trade populations.
- Hands-on experience with an LMS (e.g., Workday Learning, Cornerstone, SAP SuccessFactors, or Docebo).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong instructional design ability: can convert SOPs and engineering specs into digestible training content.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills; comfortable training groups of 5–50 on the production floor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate) is a plus.
- Data-driven mindset: able to build Excel/Google Sheets training reports and analyze completion rates, test scores, and skills gaps.
- Bilingual in **English and Mandarin Chinese** is highly preferred to support expatriate integration and HQ collaboration.
Certifications (Preferred)
- ATD Master Trainer, CPTD, or equivalent instructional design certification.
- OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour certification; Train-the-Trainer credentials.
- Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt or lean manufacturing training background.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a **startup or greenfield manufacturing facility** (0→1 plant launch).

Position Summary
The Equipment Manager is responsible for leading all equipment-related activities within Gotion Pack battery manufacturing in Manteno Illinois facility. This role oversees equipment calibration, validation, testing, commissioning, SOP development, future equipment projects and long-term reliability performance. Experience managing a team of more than 50 equipment engineers. This role requires strong technical depth, cultural adaptability, and unwavering commitment to safety, integrity, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Startup Leadership
Lead equipment commissioning for new production lines.
Coordinate factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).
Oversee equipment calibration, validation, and performance verification.
Develop equipment startup timelines aligned with production ramp plans.
2. Equipment Installation, Calibration & Testing
Manage installation of key battery pack production equipment
Ensure precision calibration and alignment of automated and high-voltage systems.
Develop standardized calibration procedures.
Validate equipment capability against process specifications and yield targets.
3. SOP & Standardization Development
Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for:
Equipment operation
Preventive & predictive maintenance
Troubleshooting & escalation
Safety compliance
Establish equipment documentation control and revision management.
Ensure SOP alignment with global headquarters standards and local regulatory requirements.
4. Reliability, Equipment Uptime & Continuous Improvement
Establish preventive and predictive maintenance systems.
Track KPIs such as OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and downtime trends.
Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation.
Lead TPM and continuous improvement initiatives in a startup environment.
Reduce unplanned downtime and improve overall equipment efficiency
5. Cross-Cultural & Global Collaboration
Serve as the primary liaison between local operations and Gotion headquarters support.
Collaborate with international OEM vendors and technical teams.
Demonstrate cultural awareness, respect, and adaptability in communication styles.
Support translation and technical alignment between global engineering standards and local implementation.
6. Leadership & Communication
Build and lead a high-performing equipment engineering and maintenance team.

7. Equipment Lifecycle Management
Oversee installation, commissioning, qualification, and validation of new equipment and future equipment project.
Develop long-term asset management strategies.

Coordinate equipment upgrades, retrofits, and obsolescence management.
8. Manufacturing Process Support
Support critical battery pack production processes of the equipment.
Ensure equipment performance meets production yield and quality targets.
9. Team Leadership
Lead a team of over 50 equipment engineers, technicians, and maintenance supervisors.
Develop training programs for technical staff and operators.
Build succession planning and technical competency development programs.
Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
10. Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, environmental, and battery safety standards.
Enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and high-voltage safety protocols.

11. Continuous Improvement
Drive Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma initiatives.

Manage maintenance and spare parts budgets.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in high-volume manufacturing.
3+ years in equipment engineering or maintenance leadership role.

Strong knowledge of PLCs, robotics, servo systems, and industrial controls.

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior/Staff PLC/Controls Engineer to take ownership of automation and control systems for our Pack & Module production line at Gotion’s Manteno facility. This role will lead troubleshooting, stabilization, and optimization of production equipment, while also mentoring existing Controls Engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive throughput and yield improvements.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong problem-solving skills, deep PLC expertise, and proven manufacturing floor experience.
Lead troubleshooting and optimization of PLC, HMI, motion control, and industrial networking systems across the production line.
Diagnose chronic automation issues impacting throughput, yield, and process stability; develop and execute permanent corrective actions.
Reprogram, tune, and standardize PLC logic (primarily Siemens S7-1500 / TIA Portal, plus some Omron).
Improve and maintain equipment documentation, parameter settings, software version control, and backup libraries.
Collaborate with Process, Quality, and Maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement.
Lead controls-related Root Cause Analysis (RCA), FMEA, DOE activities.
Provide technical leadership and knowledge transfer to internal Controls Engineers and Technicians; coach and elevate team capability.
Support new equipment integration, commissioning, and upgrades.
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Automation/Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent experience.
8+ years of PLC/Controls experience in a manufacturing environment (assembly / automated production / automotive / battery industry preferred).
Expert-level Siemens PLC programming (TIA Portal / S7-1500).
Experience with industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus).
Strong troubleshooting and electrical diagnostic ability; able to solve system-level issues independently.
Able to work onsite full-time in a fast-paced production environment.
Preferred
Experience with Omron PLC.
Robotics and machine vision integration experience.
Experience stabilizing production lines during ramp-up.

Gotion is seeking a Visual Systems Engineer to design, implement, and maintain vision systems utilizing Charge-Coupled Device (CCD) technology for our 40GW battery cell manufacturing facility in Illinois. This role will focus on developing and optimizing imaging solutions to ensure precision, quality, and efficiency in battery cell production processes. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in CCD-based systems to support automated inspection, defect detection, and process monitoring.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $80k - $120k + 15% bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
