Role
We are looking for a Staff Software Development Engineer to join our Shared Platform Services team. This is a hybrid role based in Mohali / Hyderabad/ Bangalore/ , reporting to the Sr. Manager Software Engineering. Our Engineering team built the world's largest cloud security platform from the ground up, and we continue to scale. With more than 100 patents and extensive plans for enhancing services, our multitenant architecture has established us as the cloud security leader for over 15 million users worldwide. What you’ll do (Role Expectations)
- Lead the end-to-end design and development of large-scale, complex features for the Zscaler Client Connector Cloud Service, driving key technical initiatives from initial concept to final execution.
- Take full accountability for core product functionality, ensuring high performance, scalability, and seamless integration within the cloud ecosystem.
- Partner closely with Product Management, Development, and Cloud Operations teams to align on product vision and ensure a smooth, synchronized release lifecycle.
- Define robust deployment procedures and implement proactive monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the long-term stability and health of new features.
- Champion product excellence by troubleshooting critical customer issues and delivering high-quality, resilient code within a fast-paced, high-velocity environment.

What We’re Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)
- 5 years of hands-on experience specifically in developing web applications and microservices.
- Deep proficiency in Enterprise Java, Object-Oriented Analysis/Programming (OOA/OOP), and RESTful API architecture.
- Practical experience with RDBMS, specifically being "fluent" in SQL programming and writing Stored Procedures.
- Security Literacy: A solid understanding of Security, Authentication/Authorization, and encryption best practices.
- Experience in application development using Java, REST APIs, MySQL, and JQuery
What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a strictly related discipline.
- Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills using CPU and memory profilers to identify resource exhaustion issues
- Ability to write complex MySQL queries and generate reports based on business requirements

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our global engineering organization and help lead the design, development, and enhancement of our solutions and products. As part of our engineering team, you’ll build high quality, scalable and secure software that powers critical file exchange capabilities for over 5000 global enterprise customers.
This role is ideal for an experienced backend engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment, takes ownership of complex systems, and enjoys working across the full stack—from APIs to UI to cloud integration.
- Design and develop robust, high-performance, highly secure file transfer products and solutions in Modern C++ (version 11 and later) and Java
- Build and maintain RESTful integrations using JSON and XML
- Contribute to and enhance web-based UIs using JavaScript, JQuery, and related frameworks.
- Implement and optimize support for file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTP/S, FTP/S)
- Design and implement automated unit and integration tests in a “shift-left” testing environment.
- Collaborate with team leads and architects on system design and feature planning.
- Participate in code reviews, advocate for best practices, and help improve code quality across the team.
- Partner with Quality Engineering, DevOps, and Product teams to deliver reliable, maintainable enterprise software.
- Work with cloud technologies including AWS and Azure to deploy and scale infrastructure and services.
- Contribute to team ceremonies and technical documentation in an Agile Scrum environment.
- Take ownership of assigned modules and mentor junior engineers when appropriate.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–7 years of professional experience in software engineering, with strong Modern C++ and OOP development skills.
- Solid knowledge of REST APIs, integration patterns, and data formats like JSON.
- Proficiency with JavaScript, JQuery, and modern front-end development concepts.
- Proficiency with SQL and relational databases
- Strong understanding of file transfer and networking protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTP/S) Experience with version control (Git, SVN) and collaboration tools such as JIRA, TFS.
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum development methodologies.
- Good understanding of cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Security-first mindset, particularly with networking and data exchange
Nice to Have
- Exposure to DevOps workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code tools and practices.
- Knowledge of security, encryption, and compliance standards related to data and file transfer.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to enterprise-grade automation software in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

- Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

- Use version control tools such as Git or SVN and collaborate using systems like TFS and JIRA.
- Contribute to technical documentation and architecture reviews.
- Engage in continuous learning around cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), security standards, and automation technologies.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 3-5+ years of software development experience (internships and academic projects are welcome).
- Strong object oriented programming skills in Modern C++ (version 11 and above) and Java
- Familiarity with RESTful API integration using JSON.
- Experience developing interactive front-ends with JavaScript and JQuery.
- Proficiency with SQL and relational databases
- Experience with version control systems like Git or SVN.
- Exposure to collaboration tools such as JIRA, TFS, or similar.
- Understanding of or experience working within Agile Scrum environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
