The Position

OPSWAT is now searching for a Software Engineering Intern to join our MDaaS product. MDaaS is a real-time malware scanning platform handling 30M+ requests/day, built on a Node.js/TypeScript microservices architecture with event streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and React frontend.

As an Intern, you'll work directly with senior engineers — shipping real features, fixing real bugs, and learning how a production-grade cybersecurity platform is built and operated.

What You Will Be Doing

• Implement small features and bug fixes across backend services (Node.js/TypeScript) under guidance from senior engineers

• Write unit and integration tests to improve coverage on existing modules

• Participate in code reviews — both receiving feedback and reviewing peers

• Debug issues in local and staging environments using logs and tracing tools

• Read and understand event-driven flows (Kafka consumers, RabbitMQ handlers) to contribute to ingestion and processing pipelines

• Update and maintain internal documentation, API specs, and runbooks

• Join sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives as an active team member

• Experiment with frontend components in the internal tooling dashboard (React + TypeScript)

• Review product requirements and clarify test scenarios with the team

About the Role

Your Impact

You’ll be part of an engineering team, participate in multiple activities to develop features of Axon’s camera products from inception, through design, development, and release. You live and breathe device software that require high stability and fast, consistent performance. You love working with the latest open source technologies, and can leverage your system design skills to make the right technical decisions on a system that needs to be bullet-proof.

Not only can you drive decisions among competing engineering trade-offs, your empathy with customers allows you to intuit innovative solutions for our customer problems. You will be working closely with product managers and designers to ensure we are building the right solution for our customers. Work Location: This role is based out of our Ho Chi Minh Office and follows a hybrid schedule. Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy new features for Axon’s camera systems in in a secure, privacy preserving way.
• Coordinate across teams on a breadth of platforms including desktop, mobile applications, and backend services.
• Set a high technical bar for the team through code and architecture design reviews.
• Participate in technical issues troubleshooting and solving of the team.
• Resolve ambiguity in product requirements potentially resolve conflicting requirements.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers.

What you bring

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics, or an equivalent technical field.
• 8+ years of professional experience in embedded software development.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Golang, and other relevant programming languages.
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, runtime analysis, object-oriented design, and code quality verification.
• Experience with writing unit test, integration and/or system level tests
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in embedded software development.
• Proven experience with Embedded Linux development.
• Solid networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, TLS/SSL, etc.) with hands-on experience in WiFi, LTE, and GPS technologies.
• Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and systems.
• Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal).

We are looking for a Backend Engineer for GSaaS projects to serve NAVER Works, LINE Works users such as:

• Services related to Naver Drive like Naver Switch: is a tool that connects WORKS Drive with other cloud storage services such as Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, and Microsoft OneDrive, enabling seamless data transfer to WORKS Drive.
• Internal tools like Biz Tool: is a tool/system that supports integrated authority management for service operations tools.
• Chatbots such as Eco App: is a bot/app that can integrate 3 party services (Jira, Dropbox,...) with NAVER WORKS/LINE WORKS, delivers important information and real-time updates to users, and supports efficient task processing.
• ClovaNote Admin: is that provides an admin page for management of Clova Note B2B, developing Clova Note in-app for 3rd parties (Zoom, Teams).

Your daily tasks:

• Responsible for developing and maintaining the server-side components using the Java programming language.
• Write and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture and API specifications.

Your background:

• 4+ years of work experience on related work；
• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or related field;
• Good Java basic skills, experience with multi-threaded programming, IO, JVM garbage collection;
• Experience with Java performance tuning and find and resolve troubleshoot experience with Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, MyBatis, MySQL, High Availability, High Concurrency Related Technologies; 
• Experience with Linux basic command, independently complete project deployment, troubleshooting; 
• Open-minded, honest and have a positive attitude towards people;
• Good at communication skills in general and English skills in particular.
