Job Description
PayPay's rapid growth necessitates the expansion of its product teams and underscores the critical need for a resilient Data Engineering Platform. This platform is vital to support our increasing business demands. The Data Pipeline team is tasked with creating, deploying, and managing this platform, utilizing leading technologies like Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark, PySpark, Scala, and the AWS suite.
We are actively seeking skilled Data Engineers to join our team and contribute to scaling our platform across the organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Create and manage robust data ingestion pipelines leveraging Databricks, Airflow, Kafka, and Terraform.
- Ensure high performance, reliability, and efficiency by optimizing large-scale data pipelines.
- Develop data processing workflows using Databricks, Delta Lake, and Spark technologies.
- Maintain and improve the Data Lakehouse, utilizing Unity Catalog for efficient data management and discovery.
- Construct automation, frameworks, and enhanced tools to streamline data engineering workflows.
- Collaborate across teams to facilitate smooth data flow and integration.
- Enforce best practices in observability, data governance, security, and regulatory compliance
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years as a Data Engineer or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark, and Scala.
- Proven ability to design, build, and operate Data Lakes or Data Warehouses.
- Proficiency with Data Orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect).
- Familiarity with Change Data Capture tools (Canal, Debezium, Maxwell).
- Strong command of at least one primary language (Scala, Python, etc.) and SQL.
- Experience with data catalog and metadata management (Unity Catalog, Lakeformation).
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities for complex data challenges.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Capability to make informed decisions, learn quickly, and consider complex technical contexts.
- Leverage AI/LLM-based tools in daily workflows (e.g., code development, reviews, testing, debugging, documentation), while ensuring human oversight, judgment, and accountability drive the final product.

The Opportunity:
Staff Engineer is the key role in our technology organization working together with individual contributors and senior leadership. We are seeking a talented mid-level Software Developer to join our growing engineering team as an individual contributor. You will work closely with our Engineering Manager and cross-functional teams to build scalable web applications and cloud-based solutions using modern technologies. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to architectural decisions while focusing on delivering high-quality code and technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable web applications using .NET Framework/Core/5+ and modern UI frameworks
- Develop, maintain and modernize Excel integrated .Net add-in for existing client base.

- Collaborate with engineering teams, product management, and design to implement technical solutions

PayPay is looking for a Frontend Engineer to build and scale UI/Product experiences for our web applications. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to deliver high-quality features, contribute to a growing design system.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver product features end-to-end: translate requirements into clean, scalable UI implementations with well-structured components and predictable data flow.
- Build reusable UI components and patterns: contribute to and extend our design system using tools like Storybook; prioritize consistency, accessibility basics, and developer ergonomics.
- Integrate APIs and handle real-world states: implement robust data fetching patterns (pagination, caching, retries), and manage loading/error/empty states with clear UX behavior.
- Write maintainable, modular code: apply good separation of concerns (presentation vs business logic vs API layer), meaningful abstractions, and clear naming; keep codebase easy to extend.
- Optimize performance and reliability: identify bottlenecks (rendering, network, bundle size), apply pragmatic improvements (memoization, debouncing, virtualization where relevant), and avoid async pitfalls (stale responses, race conditions).
- Improve engineering quality: participate actively in code reviews, raise the bar on standards, and help enforce best practices around testing strategy, i18n, and build tooling.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: work closely with PM/Design/Backend to clarify requirements, propose tradeoffs, and deliver iteratively with high ownership.
