Define the tooling and functional monitoring needs that enable the SRE team to maintain constellation health and respond effectively to deviations. 
• Support SRE, Platform, and Customer Service leads in triaging constellation or satellite issues that deviate from nominal asset profile definitions, ensuring escalation paths and responses are technically justified. 
• Act as a technical reviewer and contributor during Mission Readiness Review (MRR) and pre-launch handover, ensuring operational teams are equipped with validated, well-understood assets and clearly defined expectations for mission performance.

Basic Qualifications:

• BSc in Engineering, Computer Science, equivalent STEM-related subject, or equivalent work experience.

• Comprehensive understanding of space systems, concepts of operations, and remote systems operation.

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role: 

The successful candidate will perform critical fire engineering role for external wall construction, contributing to the industry wide improvement to fire life safety of for residential buildings post Grenfell. You will work closely with other members of our team across multiple offices to support our clients UK wide. Here at Jensen Hughes, our clients trust us to respond rapidly and deliver conclusive reports, of the highest technical standard. You will undertake reviews of external wall construction for both existing and new buildings by means of document/design reviews, on-site intrusive surveys of existing buildings, on-site inspections of new building work, fire risk appraisals of existing buildings and development of fire engineered solutions for new building designs.   

Responsibilities

• Reviews of architectural drawings and specifications for external wall design relevant to fire life safety and compliance with Building Regulations, Fire Safety Order and PAS 9980
• On-site inspections of external wall construction new building works, for compliance with the design package and Building Regulations relevant to fire life safety
• On-site intrusive survey inspections to establish or verify the external wall construction existing buildings relevant to fire life safety provisions, including identification of products/materials and cavity barrier/fire stopping installation
• Risk based assessment of external wall construction of existing building in line with the methodology of PAS 9980 methodology
• Identification and review of building fire strategy key principles via desktop review of fire strategy reports, fire risk assessment reports, building plans or on-site inspection
• Production of clear and comprehensive reports to outline assessments made
• Supporting on the development of Fire Safety Strategy reports with input into principles relevant to risk of fire spread over the external walls, Building Regulation B4(1)
• Project resource management
• Assist with quality assurance processes as required
• Managing your own client base and exceeding client expectations

• Supporting on fee proposals, business development and marketing material preparations

• Identification and review of building fire strategy key principles via desktop review of fire strategy reports, fire risk assessment reports, building plans or on-site inspection
• Production of clear and comprehensive reports to outline assessments made
• Supporting on the development of Fire Safety Strategy reports with input into principles relevant to risk of fire spread over the external walls, Building Regulation B4(1)
• Project resource management
• Assist with quality assurance processes as required
• Managing your own client base and exceeding client expectations
• Updating the technical knowledge base
• Supporting on fee proposals, business development and marketing material preparations
• Providing in-house CPD presentations when the need arises in your specialist area

• Knowledge of facades and building envelope systems and interfaces (Cladding, curtain wall glazing, render, brickwork, custom solutions)
• Knowledge of construction methods, fire performance of external wall materials cavity barriers, fire stops and fire breaks.
• Knowledge of passive fire protection products, fire testing and products field of application
• Knowledge of waterproofing systems focusing on the system classification and the components reaction to fire and how this interfaces with the vertical façade
• Experience carrying out intrusive external wall surveys on a wide range of new and existing buildings such as high-rise residential, office buildings, large retail complexes, historic buildings
• The ability to read architectural drawings and specifications
• The ability to author technical reports with engineering judgement
• Extensive understanding of fire safety design legislation and guidance for a variety of buildings, including Building Regulations, Approved Document B, Fire Safety Order, and PAS 9980
• A knowledge of the fire risk assessment process and a general appreciation of general risk/hazards in the built environment

 As a Fire Litigation Consultant, you will assist and work on high profile projects and cases, specifically design and construction defects, cladding issues, etc. You will assist senior members of the team with disclosure, research and report writing. You will have access to the firm's resources and know-how and have the opportunity to be involved in training and development.

 A key attraction of this role is that you will have the opportunity to be responsible for seeing a technical investigation through from beginning to end from initially collecting the evidence on site to preparing the final technical expert witness report and ultimately giving expert evidence in Court.

This role can be based from any of our UK or Ireland offices. 

Responsibilities

This role will cover all aspects of fire safety litigation matters with professional indemnity. You must have fire safety Building Regulations experience and preferably cladding and site experience. 

The list below provides an overview of the various aspects of the job:

• Conducting site-based investigations to record evidence.
• Reviewing technical documentation that may include manuals and maintenance records.
• Consulting relevant standards, regulations and other published guidance.
• Providing the client with timely preliminary verbal and/or written advice in a form that can be readily understood by a layperson and ultimately a Judge.
• Preparing reports that may be in the form of a brief letter style report or in the form of a detailed, illustrated report for Court proceedings.
• Attending client meetings to discuss your investigation.
• Meetings with experts appointed by the other involved parties as part of the litigation process.
• Eventually, after training and experience, expert witness evidence in Court, which will involve being questioned in depth by a Barrister, who will have been briefed by a technical expert.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Degree in Fire Engineering, or other relevant area.
• An established professional background in Fire Safety Engineering.
• Experience of building construction design in relation to fire safety, particularly in residential and commercial buildings.
• Experience of fire safety design in residential apartment and commercial buildings including a knowledge of relevant fire safety design codes.

 As a Fire Engineering Expert Witness, you will assist and work on high profile projects and cases, specifically design and construction defects, cladding issues, internal fire safety defects etc. You will take a lead role with disclosure, research and report writing. You will have access to the firm's resources and know-how and have the opportunity to be involved in training and development.

 A key attraction of this role is that you will have the opportunity to be responsible for seeing a technical investigation through from beginning to end from initially collecting the evidence on site to preparing the final technical expert witness report and ultimately giving expert evidence in Court.

This role will cover all aspects of fire safety litigation matters with professional indemnity. The list below provides an overview of the various aspects of the job:

• Conducting site-based investigations to record evidence and analyse fire incidents.

What You'll Do: 

As a Senior Sales Engineer focused on our Space Services offering, you will join a growing team responsible for providing unique space-based solutions to the commercial market. You will engage directly with the Spire Account Executives and customer base to understand operational requirements, qualify opportunities, and design space-driven solutions. You will collaborate closely with the satellite architect and engineering colleagues and to develop customer-driven solutions that leverage Spire’s small satellite platforms, payloads, and global infrastructure.    

The role of Senior Sales Engineer requires a deep understanding of challenges of building, launching and operating small satellites. With an emphasis on our Space Services offering, you will build intimate knowledge of the Spire satellite subsystems, payload capabilities, and system interfaces critical to customers seeking to deploy systems onto our network. Successful candidates will have a broad and deep technical experience designing space systems along with strong communications skills and the ability to thrive in a customer focused environment. The role involves supporting business winning campaigns on commercial and government business, owning the technical requirements negotiation and ensuring that the customer mission objectives can be achieved with the offered solution. This role will be the senior technical representative of the company to our customers and will be comfortable presenting on different levels in high pressure situations.

Scope of the role: 

• Lead the planning, preparation, and execution of various types of thermal testing of Spacecraft Systems including:  
  • Thermal Vacuum Testing (TVAC) 
  • Thermal Balance and Characterization Tests 
  • Thermal Characterization of components, coatings, and interfaces 
• Work closely with thermal analysis teams to ensure robust test-to-model correlation of spacecraft thermal models.

We are looking for a Spacecraft Software Engineer (GNSS) to join our team working at the intersection of satellite payloads, scientific computing, and data delivery systems. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining both the flight and ground software that powers our satellite-based GNSS missions. You’ll work across system layers—from embedded software to cloud data pipelines—to help ensure the accurate and timely delivery of mission-critical scientific data to our customers.   

This is a high-impact role where autonomy, creativity, and technical breadth are key.   

What You'll Do as a Senior Software Engineer:

• Develop and maintain scientific and command & control software for GNSS-based satellite payloads using a variety of software stacks.   

• Build and operate ground-based automation systems for efficient data extraction, transformation, and delivery from the satellite to end users.   

• Collaborate closely with flight operations to troubleshoot and ensure consistent, high-quality data delivery.   

• Engage with other system engineers, payload developers, and mission operators to continuously evolve the software in support of scientific objectives.   
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold software reliability and traceability.   

Who You Are (Required Qualifications):

We're looking for someone with at least 5 of the following qualifications:   

• Proficient in at least one of C++ or Python, and capable of picking up new tools and languages as needed.   

• Experience in FPGA development (VHDL or HLS) for signal processing or control systems.   

• Solid background in DSP techniques and theory, especially in the context of RF or GNSS.   

• Familiarity with GNSS signal processing and/or scientific applications such as GNSS-RO, GNSS-R, or PNT algorithms.   

• Skilled in cloud-based systems (e.g., AWS), backend development, and managing data via scalable storage/database solutions.   

• A lifelong learner—curious, adaptable, and open to new challenges outside your immediate expertise.
