Mission Brief
As a Senior Production Engineer, you will serve as the technical authority and process owner for electrical/electronic assemblies and wiring harnesses, covering assembly, endofline testing, and industrialisation. You own the transition from prototype and preseries builds to stable, serial production, ensuring that Electromechanical and electronic products (E/E systems or Avionics) meet stringent performance, functional safety, and reliability requirements for series manufacturing
You will drive process capability, production readiness (MRL/TRL), efficiency, and equipment strategy while guiding technicians and junior engineers. You will collaborate closely with design engineering, AIT, quality, supply chain, development programs, and external suppliers to deliver scalable, highly reliable avionics production processes.
Your Role in Our Space Mission:
Engineers with backgrounds in automotive E/E industrialisation, complex electronics manufacturing, or regulated hardware systems typically adapt very successfully to this environment. Partner with cross-functional teams to implement observability best practices, providing training and guidance on tools while leveraging metrics data to drive engineering priorities.
Leverage AWS to design, build, and maintain a resilient cloud infrastructure, implementing best practices for security, scalability, and cost optimization while ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and robust platform components such as pipelines, shared infrastructure, and application services.
• Proven experience as a (Site) Reliability Engineer or similar role in a SaaS and/or telecom company.
• Hands-on experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Mimir, Grafana, Loki, CloudWatch, Grafana IRM, Rootly), including setup and optimization of metrics and alerts.
• Experience in establishing and managing incident management processes.
• Understanding of incident management frameworks and best practices.
• Extensive experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch).
• Expert skills with modern infrastructure tooling and principles (Kubernetes, IaaC - Terraform, CI/CD - GitHub Actions, Jenkins)

As a part of the larger Engineering department, the Platform team plays a crucial role in enhancing emnify’s competitive edge by improving developer experience to increase development efficiency and scale productivity. The position is a hybrid position based in emnify’s office in Berlin.
You’ll take part in designing, building, and maintaining the company’s multi-region, highly available, and performant Kafka infrastructure. Further, improve the developer experience of cross-functional teams to integrate their services using an event-driven architecture.
You’ll manage and maintain the underlying infrastructure for our Kafka clusters.
As part of the Platform team, you’ll continuously improve our CI/CD systems and concepts, enabling product teams to safely and efficiently deploy their applications on AWS-managed services and Kubernetes.
You’ll collaborate with the product teams and take an active part in implementing new infrastructure and services, providing valuable insights and implementation recommendations to ensure the successful and timely delivery of the projects.
Good experience with managing Kubernetes clusters (EKS) with emphasis on performance and cost optimization.
Strong understanding of event-driven architecture.

About the Role
You will be part of a highly collaborative product team working at the core of our manufacturing facility, transforming digital models into physical elements at scale.
Product Teams at GROPYUS own what they build, including underlying infrastructure, build pipelines, automated testing, release and rollout management, monitoring, and support. You will bring your experience in working with PLCs and/or other OT systems like e.g. robots, into the team.
As a Software Engineer (PLC / OT), you will work with your team on evolving the rather traditional architecture of MES like systems integrating via OPC-UA with PLCs into a future-proof architecture built with Software Defined Manufacturing in mind.
