Who You Are:

• BA or BS Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• You have 5+ years of hands-on software development experience building and operating highly available, full-stack SaaS products, with a solid understanding of modern web architectures and scalable, multi-tenant systems.
• You have 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager, leading high-performing teams that deliver complex, cross-team initiatives using an agile, iterative approach.

What's the opportunity? 

The Technical Support Engineer team is looking for an individual with engineering and or web development experience that wants to be a part of creating truly exceptional customer experiences as well as educating and supporting our customers on a global level. This is a very hands-on, technical role, that is much broader than a typical ticket-based support position. Our Support Engineers partner with our customers to tackle challenging technical issues they face in innovative ways. 

In this role, you will be directly responsible for helping people integrate Intercom into their products, diagnose and report problems they have, and serve as the bridge between our customers and our product teams. Software Engineer II, Reliability (Dublin)

Team Overview:

As a Software Engineer II, Reliability, you will help ensure Klaviyo’s critical platforms are reliable, scalable, and sustainable while enabling rapid product development.

We treat reliability as a core product feature and use software engineering to solve complex systems and operational challenges. Our work spans infrastructure, security, and software engineering, and focuses on building and operating systems that are reliable, secure, and performant at scale.

The SRE team’s charter is to build and operate foundational services and infrastructure, reduce operational toil through automation, and continuously improve systems based on real production learnings. Your work will directly impact how Klaviyo engineers build software and how customers experience our platform every day.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

As a Software Engineer II, Reliability, you will contribute to the reliability and operational excellence of Klaviyo’s platforms by working on well-scoped projects and owning services with support from senior engineers. You will:

• Build, operate, and improve production systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance
• Apply software engineering principles to automate operational tasks and reduce manual toil
• Contribute to the design and implementation of systems using established SRE best practices
• Help define and measure SLIs and SLOs for services you support
• Improve observability through metrics, dashboards, logging, and tracing
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents with guidance and support
• Assist with incident investigation and contribute to post-incident reviews and follow-up actions
• Perform basic analysis around system behavior, capacity usage, and scaling characteristics
• Identify reliability issues or operational pain points and work with teammates to address them
• Collaborate with product, platform, and security engineers to ship reliable systems
• Write and maintain clear operational runbooks and system documentation

Who You Are:

You are an early-to-mid career SRE who is comfortable operating production systems and eager to deepen your expertise in reliability engineering. You:

• Have experience operating cloud-native production systems and services
• Write production-quality code (e.g. Python, Go, or similar) to automate operations and improve reliability
• Understand common failure modes in distributed systems, such as dependency failures, resource exhaustion, and partial outages
• Have experience working with containerized workloads and platforms (e.g. Kubernetes) in production environments
• Are comfortable participating in on-call rotations and diagnosing straightforward production issues
• Have experience using observability tools and responding to alerts
• Are familiar with SRE concepts such as SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets, and are learning how to apply them in practice
• Have hands-on experience with infrastructure as code or declarative configuration (e.g. Terraform, Kubernetes manifests)
• Can follow incident response processes and contribute meaningfully during outages
• Are comfortable receiving feedback, learning from incidents, and improving your systems over time
• You’ve already experimented with AI in work or personal projects, and you’re excited to dive in and learn fast. You’re hungry to responsibly explore new AI tools and workflows, finding ways to make your work smarter and more efficient.

Nice to Have:

• Experience supporting security-sensitive systems or internal platforms
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud providers
• Exposure to messaging or asynchronous systems (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ, Celery)
• Interest in performance testing, capacity planning, or resilience work
• Practical experience with algorithms and data structures

How You’ll Make an Impact:

As a Senior Software Engineer, Reliability, you will build and operate the platforms, systems, and services that underpin Klaviyo’s reliability and operational excellence. You will:

• Build and operate foundational, security-critical services with a strong emphasis on availability, scalability, latency, and fault tolerance
• Apply software engineering principles to automate infrastructure, reduce operational toil, and improve system reliability at scale
• Design, implement, and evolve systems using SRE best practices
• Define and refine SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets to guide engineering decisions
• Improve observability, alerting, and incident response to reduce mean time to detection and recovery
• Participate in on-call rotations with a focus on sustainable operations and automatic remediations 
• Perform quantitative analysis to understand system behavior, capacity constraints, and scaling limits
• Identify systemic risks and reliability bottlenecks and drive long-term, preventative solutions
• Collaborate closely with product, platform, and security engineers to influence architecture early and ship reliable systems
• Mentor and pair with other engineers, helping raise the bar for reliability, operational maturity, and engineering excellence

Who You Are:

You are a cloud-native, platform-focused SRE who uses software to build and operate reliable production systems at scale.

• You write and maintain production-quality code (e.g. Python, Go, or similar) to build internal platforms, automate operations, and improve system reliability
• You have built, deployed, and operated distributed, cloud-native systems and understand failure modes such as partial outages, dependency failures, resource saturation, and cascading impact
• You have experience operating containerized workloads and platforms (e.g. Kubernetes) in production, including deployment strategies, scaling behavior, and service networking
• You are comfortable participating in on-call rotations and diagnosing production issues
• You have designed and operated observability systems and know how to build actionable alerts that reflect real user and service impact
• You apply SRE concepts such as SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and burn-rate–based alerting to guide engineering decisions and operational response
• You have hands-on experience with infrastructure as code and declarative configuration (e.g. Terraform, Kubernetes manifests, policy-as-code)
• You have performed capacity planning, load testing, and performance analysis for distributed services and platforms
• You routinely contribute to post-incident reviews and drive concrete, code-focused follow-up actions that prevent recurrence
• You are comfortable reviewing and contributing to technical designs, platform APIs, operational runbooks, and system documentation
• You’ve already experimented with AI in work or personal projects, and you’re excited to dive in and learn fast. You’re hungry to responsibly explore new AI tools and workflows, finding ways to make your work smarter and more efficient.

The Amplify team builds the internal platforms, automation, and AI-driven systems that power how Klaviyos work every day. As an Engineering Manager, you will:

• Lead one or more engineering teams and help shape the technical direction for internal tools and platforms that improve efficiency, automation, and productivity.
• Lead a portfolio of internal systems supporting Sales, Marketing, Customer Service & Success, R&D, and Finance, including AI-powered workflows, internal web applications, data and event pipelines, third-party integrations, and support tooling.
• Balance technical leadership and people leadership, setting direction, modelling best practices, and enabling teams to deliver effectively through others.
• Partner closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and senior stakeholders to translate organisational challenges into scalable, high-quality software solutions.
• Learn and evolve Klaviyo’s end-to-end internal workflows, scaling platforms and processes to support the company’s next phase of growth.

Who You Are:

• You are passionate about building software for the long term, balancing technical quality, delivery pace, and business impact.
• BA or BS Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
• You have 5+ years of hands-on software development experience building and operating highly available, full-stack SaaS products, with a solid understanding of modern web architectures and scalable, multi-tenant systems.
• You have 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager, leading high-performing teams that deliver complex, cross-team initiatives using an agile, iterative approach.
• You are a technically curious leader with hands-on experience using modern AI tools and workflows (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, n8n) and an interest in helping teams apply them thoughtfully to improve productivity and outcomes.
• You are comfortable setting technical direction and standards, working with peers and senior leadership to evolve architecture, development practices, and shared engineering processes.
• You have experience owning work end-to-end – from design through delivery and deployment, including planning, estimation, and managing delivery risks.
• You are an effective cross-functional communicator, able to work closely with product, design, and business partners to align priorities and move work forward.

Nice to have:

• Experience building internal tools, platforms, or automation for developers and/or non-technical teams.
• Hands-on experience in full-stack environments, including diagnosing and improving application performance.
• Strong practical experience using AI tools and patterns (e.g. APIs/SDKs, prompt and context design, automated or agentic workflows, RAG, and evaluation or monitoring).
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), including infrastructure-as-code and containerised environments (Terraform and Kubernetes). Familiarity with GCP or Azure is a plus.

30 / 60 / 90 / 6-12 Month Plan:

30 Days: Build context across the Amplify domain by learning the teams’ areas of ownership, architecture, and core workflows. Establish trust with engineers and partners while contributing to technical discussions and trade-off decisions.

60 Days: Assess team roadmaps and delivery practices, incorporating input from engineers and stakeholders. Align priorities with the technical direction and business goals you are helping to shape, and begin contributing to hiring and team growth.

90 Days: Improve how teams and stakeholders work by introducing or refining tools, processes, or architectural approaches. Provide technical leadership through reviews, guidance, and targeted hands-on contributions where helpful.

6-12 months: Be a trusted owner of your teams’ platforms and systems, known for delivering meaningful, scalable impact. Partner closely with product and design to drive adoption of Amplify systems and evolve them to support Klaviyo’s continued growth.
