About The Role
We are looking for students interested in starting a full time internship from Summer 2026. This role is for a 20 week internship, based out of our Aarhus, Denmark office.
The team is located both in Aarhus DK, China and in the US. Please submit your CV in English.

We are looking for a Senior Quantum Field Engineer. As a Senior Quantum Field Engineer, you’ll be part of a team whose mission is to lead IonQ on its journey to build the world’s best quantum solutions and solve the world’s most complex problems. Field Engineering sits at the intersection of customers, markets, products and product teams, algorithms, applications, innovation and strategy - this is the team where ideas become applied and have impact.
Join a nimble team of scientists, engineers, salespeople, marketers, business developers, and product managers to drive an entirely new quantum computing business. We’re seeking versatile engineers and architects skilled in technical sales, technical demos and customer interactions who feel energized to deliver IonQ’s quantum computing products and quantum applications.
Responsibilities:
- Inspire prospective clients by explaining IonQ’s strategy, portfolio and answering technical questions about quantum portfolio (compute, network, security, sensing and space) and quantum applications.
- Lead and shepherd client discussions, inspiring them to see how quantum applications can be implemented in their business domain.
- This includes working through business needs and mapping Quantum Algorithms (financial services, bioscience, chemistry and materials, optimization, generative AI, and other domains) into application code and executing Proof-of-Concepts together with the IonQ Application team.
- Share insights from clients with the IonQ Product Management and Engineering teams such that client feedback is incorporated into our products.
- Navigate competitive objection handling
- Translate business needs expressed by our clients into technical work projects in collaboration with other team members.
- Create assets to explain features of our quantum applications and other IonQ quantum products.
- Move dialogs from initial ideation to focused exploration domain through to proof-of-concept and ultimately into production workflows.
- Lead client discovery sessions for business-oriented use cases that uncover potential overlap with development of useful quantum algorithms together with the IonQ Application team
- Partner with marketing, developer relations and business development to grow awareness of IonQ in the world at large.
- Attend industry conferences, as needed, to talk to client and support our booth activities.
- Some travel expected in the US (20%) but opportunities for global travel are available as well for client meeting and IonQ conference activities.

You’d be a good fit with:
- 5 years of experience in technical customer-facing roles or equivalent capacity. The ability to communicate (at the various context-appropriate levels of depth) and persuade clearly, have strong EQ, and other customer facings skills are critical.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or other STEM field, such as Chemistry, Physics or Engineering

Role & Team
We’re looking for a Director of Platform & Infrastructure to own and evolve our core engineering foundations. Reporting to our VP of Product Engineering, this role will lead SRE, MLOps, and Platform teams with a mandate to create leverage across the entire organization.
As a scaling startup, we’re evolving from early-stage infrastructure to a more mature, reliable platform that can support rapid product development and growing customer demand. This role is critical in helping us make that transition — building systems, standards, and teams that enable speed today while laying the foundation for long-term scale.
Partnering closely with product, data, and application engineering teams, you will set the technical vision, define best practices, and ensure our infrastructure enables teams to move fast with confidence.
This is a highly cross-functional leadership role for someone who combines deep technical judgment with a systems mindset, strong people leadership, and a passion for building platforms that empower others.
Time zone requirement: Europe (GMT/WET, CET, EET) and Eastern North America (NST, AST, EST)
What You'll Do
- Own the platform strategy across Platform, MLOps, and SRE, aligning it with company and product goals
- Grow senior ICs (and eventually manages) across multiple teams, fostering strong technical leadership and healthy team cultures
- Define and evolve our platform vision, including developer experience, internal tooling, CI/CD, infrastructure, observability, and reliability standards
- Oversee MLOps systems that support model development, training, deployment, monitoring, and governance in production
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, ML, Data, Security, and Compliance to ensure the platform meets current and future needs
- Balance speed and stability, making thoughtful tradeoffs between innovation, cost, reliability, and operational excellence
- Set metrics and accountability for platform performance, reliability, and developer productivity
Skills & Experience
- 10+ years experience leading platform, infrastructure, or reliability teams in a scaling startup environment, including navigating ambiguity, rapid growth, and the transition from early-stage systems to more mature, repeatable platforms
- Strong understanding of cloud-native infrastructure (GCP strongly preferred), Kubernetes, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices
- Experience supporting machine learning systems in production, including model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
- A track record of building reliable, scalable systems used by fast-moving product teams
- Excellent people leadership skills — you know how to coach managers, grow talent, and build inclusive, high-performing teams
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across org boundaries
- Experience in data- or ML-heavy products

The Unity Studio Productions team is a group of highly skilled Software Developers and Technical Artists with deep expertise in the Unity platform, whose main goal is to help our customers improve their projects, internal workflows, and assist them in the resolution of very challenging technical problems, bridging with the Unity Engine team in the process. As a Sr Specialist Solutions Architect (SSA) - ML & AI Engineer, you will be the trusted technical ML & AI expert to both Databricks customers and the Field Engineering organization. You will work with Solution Architects to guide enterprise and strategic customers in architecting production-grade ML & AI applications on Databricks, while aligning their technical roadmap with the continually evolving Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. You will continue to strengthen your technical skills through applying cutting edge technologies in GenAI, MLOps, and ML more broadly, expanding your impact through mentorship, and establishing yourself as an AI thought leader.
The impact you will have:
- Architect production level ML & AI workloads for customers using our unified platform, including agents, end-to-end ML pipelines, training/inference optimization, integration with cloud-native services, MLOps, etc.
- Serve as trusted practitioner for enterprise GenAI solutions, including RAG architectures, agentic systems (tool-calling agents, multi-agent orchestration, guardrails), natural language querying of structured data, AI evaluation and observability, and monitoring systems
- Build, scale, and optimize customer AI workloads and apply best in class MLOps to productionize these workloads across a variety of domains
- Provide advanced technical support to Solution Architects during the technical sale ranging from feature engineering, training, tracking, serving to model monitoring all within a single platform, as well as participating in the larger ML SME community in Databricks
- Collaborate cross-functionally with the product and engineering teams to represent the voice of the customer, define priorities and influence the product roadmap, helping with the adoption of Databricks’ AI offerings
What we look for:
- 7+ years of hands-on industry ML experience in at least one of the following:
- ML Engineer: Build and maintain production-grade cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) infrastructure that supports the deployment of ML applications, including drift monitoring.
- AI Engineer: Experience with the latest techniques in LLMs & agentic systems including vector databases, fine-tuning LLMs, AI guardrail systems, and deploying LLMs with tools such as HuggingFace, Langchain, and OpenAI
- Experience with data engineering, or a good understanding of the concept of data engineering
- Experience communicating and/or teaching technical concepts to non-technical and technical audiences alike
- Passion for collaboration, life-long learning, and driving business value through ML & AI
