The Product Solutions Architecture (PSA) team acts as a technical multiplier across Datadog. • Serve as an in-house subject matter expert for the Datadog Product Analytics, Feature Flags, Experimentation, and Session Replay and related products.

Who You Are:

• 5+ years of experience solving complex problems for customers and a strong knowledge of building applications, specifically using product analytics, feature flagging, or digital experience tooling.
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with product analytics platforms and optimizing them for Enterprise level production usage (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Heap, Contentsquare, FullStory, PostHog).
• Fluent in the digital experience and product analytics market domain, competition, technological shifts, and customer needs related to feature flag management, experimentation, and session replay.
• In-depth knowledge or experience with leveraging feature flag and experimentation tools (LaunchDarkly, Eppo, Split, Optimizely, etc.) and session replay platforms (FullStory, Contentsquare, Microsoft Clarity, etc.).
• Someone who can analyze Codebase and understands CI/CD, branch strategies and how that can influence Feature Flags.
• Experience with commonly used web and mobile languages and frameworks such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Python, iOS/Swift, Android/Kotlin, and file formats such as JSON and YAML.
• You are comfortable operating in rapidly evolving, ambiguous technical domains.
• You build deep context across teams and translate it into reusable, scalable solutions.
• You take ownership from problem definition through implementation and measurable outcomes.
• You are highly detail-oriented, particularly when working on architectures and customer-facing technical assets

You'll also be a mentor and technical anchor: the engineer that others bring their hardest problems to, and trust to give them a straight answer.

This is a hands-on role. You'll still write code, lead design sessions, and stay close to production. The difference is that your decisions ripple outward — they shape how the whole team works.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define the architectural patterns and technical standards for the CX team - your decisions become the baseline that others build against
• Lead the decomposition of monolithic systems into well-scoped, independently deployable services, with a clear migration strategy that keeps production stable throughout
• Design systems that absorb change - architectures that remain sound as requirements evolve and scale increases, not just ones that work on day one
• Drive high-leverage technical decisions: data modeling, API contracts, service boundaries, event-driven patterns, and infrastructure choices
• Identify architectural drift and technical debt before they threaten delivery, and build the case for addressing them
• Set and maintain standards for testing, observability, and deployment across the team's systems
• Conduct code and design reviews that raise the team's technical floor - teaching through feedback, not just approving or rejecting
• Collaborate with engineering managers and product managers to sequence technical investment alongside product priorities
• Stay close to the work: write production code, prototype solutions, and maintain enough hands-on involvement to lead with credibility

Responsibilities

• Assist in prompting, evaluating, fine-tuning, and maintaining large language models (LLMs) for AI features
• Support the creation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of backend API services that interact with ML models
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI into existing and new Rocket Lawyer products
• Research and stay up-to-date with industry trends around generative AI and machine learning
• Prototype product features to explore new AI capabilities and write clean, understandable code

What you’ll need

• Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.
• Familiarity with generative AI technologies and models (Deep Learning, RAG, Neural Networks, Agents).
• Interest or experience working with large language models (LLMs) and generative AI.
• Strong programming skills in Python

A bonus if you have

• Experience with backend Python frameworks like FastAPI, Flask, Django, etc.
• Familiarity with vector databases.
• Additional programming skills in languages such as Java, Kotlin, or NodeJS.
• SQL knowledge.
• Interest in building user-facing products.
• Understanding of microservices architectures and distributed systems.
