We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and development of miniaturized sensing systems for wearable and implantable medical devices. This person will play a critical role in translating early-stage prototypes into robust, manufacturable products by driving the mechanical design of housings, connectors, enclosures, microdevice assemblies, and packaging solutions.
This is a highly cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of engineering, biology, materials science, and product development. The engineer will work closely with scientists and external manufacturing partners to develop compact, high-performance sensing systems that can operate reliably in demanding biological environments.
The Chicago, IL base pay range for a new hire in this role is $130,000 - $137,700. New hires are typically hired into the lower portion of the range, enabling employee growth in the range over time. Actual placement in range is based on job-related skills and experience, as evaluated throughout the interview process.
This position may be eligible to participate in our discretionary annual performance bonus program. Bonus eligibility and targets are determined in accordance with our total rewards philosophy and may vary by role.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Field Service Engineer – RUPS Systems will specialize in rotary UPS power system distribution builds, mechanical and generator integration, system integration, start-ups, and preventative maintenance programs. This role requires advanced technical expertise, mechanical aptitude, leadership skills, and hands-on field experience with both electrical control systems and rotating equipment such as generators and flywheels. Strong troubleshooting skills and a commitment to delivering high-performance power solutions in data centers, hospitals, industrial facilities, and utility-scale environments are essential.
This is not a typical UPS engineer or technician role. In fact, a strong background in traditional static UPS systems may not be advantageous for this position. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience with mechanical systems, generators, and rotary equipment, and be comfortable commissioning complex power systems in the field. You will act as the front-line expert for bringing large-scale RUPS systems online, resolving technical issues, and training others. This role will also provide technical software and hardware troubleshooting support to the IEM customer base on-site throughout North America while performing start-ups, retrofits, or preventative maintenance. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional IEM teams to integrate current and new technologies, commission complex generator and RUPS systems, optimize existing power infrastructure, and ensure seamless operation across our power products as defined by the customer's RUPS design and sequence of operations (SOO). This role will serve as the point of contact for all field service personnel related to RUPS startup, generator support, preventative maintenance, 24-hour emergency response, and remote technical assistance.

Benesch is growing its national Railroad Division, and we are looking for a Project Manager to help lead the continued expansion of our Civil Track team. The Civil Track team focuses on delivering complex rail infrastructure projects, including mainline and corridor track improvements, rail yard and terminal expansions, siding extensions, industrial track programs, and fast-paced design-build initiatives that strengthen rail networks nationwide.
As a Project Manager for the Civil Track team, you will lead multidisciplinary rail projects, manage key client relationships, mentor engineering staff, and support business development efforts that help grow Benesch’s rail presence. Approximately 25% of this role focuses on relationship-building, proposals, and market growth. This is more than a delivery role. It is an opportunity to help shape a high-performing rail team while supporting major freight and passenger rail clients. With a strong backlog and rising demand, this position is critical to advancing project delivery, expanding client partnerships, and driving long term growth.
This position offers hybrid flexibility in the following offices that support Railroad Track operations and business development: Omaha, NE; Milwaukee, WI; Chicago, IL; Naperville, IL; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC
Fully remote arrangements may be considered for highly experienced candidates, though in-office collaboration is preferred when managing direct team members.

About the team:
The Automation Engineering Team is responsible for delivering robotics-driven automation deployments across a wide range of customer applications. The team partners cross-functionally to translate customer requirements into deployed systems, ensuring solutions are integrated, commissioned, and validated to perform reliably in real manufacturing environments. Automation Engineering works closely with customers, internal technical teams, and external integrators to execute deployments on schedule while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and repeatability.
About the role:
In this role, you will serve as the primary pre-sales technical and applications partner for Formic’s prospective customers. You will build credibility through strong production knowledge, technical fluency, and consultative problem-solving. You will quickly develop a deep understanding of a customer’s production goals, constraints, and success criteria, then translate those inputs into scoped automation solutions that align operational needs with Formic’s product capabilities.
You will also partner cross-functionally to ensure clean handoffs from pre-sales to deployment and ongoing support, helping ensure the solutions you design translate into successful customer outcomes.

Job Summary
