About the Role

The Product Owner (PO) for HOS & Compliance will be the primary functional lead for our development squads in Chennai. You will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of our Electronic Logging Device (ELD) and Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) features.

Following the global product strategy, you will translate FMCSA and CCMTA regulatory mandates into actionable technical requirements. You will own the team backlog, define the "Definition of Done," and ensure that every release maintains the highest level of regulatory integrity while providing a seamless experience for drivers and back-office administrators.

Essential Responsibilities

• Backlog Ownership: Lead the grooming and work with Product Management on prioritization for your assigned squad, ensuring the backlog is visible, transparent, and clear.

• User Story Development: Author detailed User Stories and Acceptance Criteria based on North American HOS rules (e.g., Cycle 1/2, Split Sleeper) and DVIR standars (§396.11).

• Sprint Planning: Partner with Engineering Leads to plan sprints that balance new regulatory mandates, technical debt, and UI enhancements.

• Functional Decision Making: Act as the primary point of contact for the engineering team to resolve functional queries and make real-time trade-off decisions.

• Global Alignment: Collaborate closely with North American Product Managers to align local execution with the global product vision.

• Feedback & Iteration: Analyze driver feedback and back-office support tickets to identify friction points in the HOS workflow.

• Release Management: Partner with Product Marketing and Support teams to create internal documentation, release notes, and training materials.

Experience & Qualifications

• Core Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst within a highly regulated SaaS environment (e.g., Telematics, FinTech, or HealthTech).

• Technical Fluency: Ability to interpret API documentation and understand data structures (JSON/XML) used for regulatory reporting.

• Agile Expertise: Proven track record of managing backlogs in Jira and leading Scrum ceremonies in a fast-paced environment.

• Collaboration Skills: Ability to handle changing priorities, speak up with new ideas, and lead technical discussions with the technology team.

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (e.g., BE/B.Tech, MCA).

• Preferred Qualifications: * CSPO Certification (Certified Scrum Product Owner).

Success Metrics for the First 90 Days

• First 30 Days: Complete a deep-dive into the current ELD architecture and FMCSA/CCMTA compliance gaps.

• First 60 Days: Successfully lead 2+ full sprints, delivering at least one high-priority compliance update.

Role Overview

We are seeking a FinOps / Expense Analyst to be the finance partner to Accounting and the business for end‑to‑end purchasing and operating expense processes. You will own day‑to‑day operations in expense management, support variance analysis and expense forecasting, and build crisp reporting packages for leadership. You will improve policy adherence, reduce “shadow spend,” and raise the signal‑to‑noise ratio in our opex so leaders can make faster, better decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the Finance point of contact for Zip (intake/PO), Concur (T&E), and Ironclad (contracts); ensure requests flow efficiently with proper approvals and documentation.
  
  
• Partner with Accounting on month‑end close for opex: accruals, reclasses, coding hygiene, and actuals vs. forecast reconciliations.
  
  
• Build and maintain variance reporting (month‑over‑month, quarter‑to‑date, YoY) with clear drivers and recommended actions.
  
  
• Support the FP&A Expense Lead on forecasting and budget refreshes; maintain driver‑based models at cost‑center and department levels.
  
  
• Develop and deliver reporting packages and executive dashboards covering opex trends, run‑rate analyses, policy exceptions, and savings opportunities.

About the Team At Business Technology, we use Appian to run Appian. We are launching our first internal AI team to build the foundation for how our global company works. This team won't just use AI, they will build the brain of the enterprise, spanning everything from predictive intelligence in our data warehouse to the GenAI infrastructure that powers our internal autonomous agents.

• Python Mastery: Deep proficiency in Python and common AI/ML libraries (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI SDK, Google Cloud AI SDK).
• Agentic Systems: Hands-on experience building multi-step, tool-calling AI agents that operate reliably in production including tool schema design, structured outputs, and failure handling.
• MCP or Tool Protocol Experience: Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or equivalent patterns for exposing enterprise resources to AI systems as callable, permissioned tools.

As a Lead Software Engineer working on the Appian platform, your mission will be to ensure Appian is always fast, scalable and up to whatever tasks our customers configure it to do. You will be solving problems of scale and flexibility that most engineers never see, building a product capable of serving our customers in ways you never imagined. Your scope extends from the high-performance data layer to the cross-platform user interface to the design tools used to create it.

The product portfolio owned by this position will cover a wide range of cloud native infrastructure and services – from the highly available, resilient, scalable, and efficient infrastructure components on which all Appian Cloud services operate to the the scalable, enterprise-grade managed services that power the backend data persistence and event streams for customer sites in Appian Cloud. You will provide product management leadership for initiatives that deliver efficient and scalable infrastructure, core compute capacity, and managed data planes as multi-tenant services to accelerate the innovations of Engineering teams throughout the department. Your portfolio will include aspects that intersect with AWS account and VPC topology, Kubernetes clusters, network mesh, and edge web layer, as well as efforts to transform existing systems and software components into cloud-native, Kubernetes-based and multi-tenant managed services while achieving incremental value for our customers from intermediate milestones.  

You'll form strong relationships with counterparts within the Engineering department as well as stakeholders in other departments. • Understanding of data persistence, object storage services, event streaming platforms, multi-tenant shared services, and the security and compliance requirements that apply

• Experience delivering cloud infrastructure features built using AWS services such as EKS, ECR, transit gateways, WAFs, and Global Accelerator (or similar offering from
