We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer I/II to join our Data Ingestion Team, which builds and operates the critical infrastructure that serves as the “front door” of StackAdapt’s event flow. In this role, you’ll own technical direction for critical parts of our ingestion platform, lead large-scale initiatives, and shape how data flows across the company.
The Data Ingestion team tackles complex distributed systems challenges at massive scale, with a focus on scalability, performance, and reliability. Our systems process over 10 billion events per day, powering core functions across bidding, reporting, billing, analytics, and machine learning. You will work on challenging technical problems and partner with teams across the company to drive key initiatives.
We design + build low-latency, highly reliable distributed systems for impressions, clicks, conversions, and third-party signals, ensuring data is accurate and available to downstream teams in real time. This is a high-impact area at the core of StackAdapt’s platform, the systems you own will directly shape data quality, system reliability, and the speed at which teams across the company can build and innovate. Our work sits at the cutting edge of large-scale distributed systems, leveraging modern technologies and architectures to solve complex real-time data challenges. The core stack includes Golang, Kafka, TiDB, Aerospike, Vitess, Kubernetes, and more.

Job Summary
We are currently hiring Software Developer in Test (SDET) Interns who are passionate about software quality for our engineering teams in Waterloo, Ontario. Our SDETs are responsible for writing test cases, automating test cases, executing manual tests and maintaining our automated test infrastructure. Our interns work alongside our full-time Software Engineers and QA Engineers on real products and services that millions of customers use everyday.
Job Responsibilities
Designing, developing, maintaining and executing test cases with maximum requirement coverage.
Performing functional, integration and regression testing using manual and automated approaches.
Collaborating with QA, Developers and Project managers to understand feature requirements, identifying acceptance criteria, and discovering and resolving issues.
Working with the teams responsible for the PlayStation®4 Console Store as well as teams working on applications and tooling for our PlayStation®5 console.
Minimum Requirements
Programming experience in popular test scripting languages.
Good understanding of object-oriented principles.
Good understanding of software development life cycle and testing methodologies.
Preferred Requirements
Experience with test automation
Proficient with JavaScript and Python
Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 features and modern browser architecture
Familiarity with version control (ex. GitHub)
Experience testing single-page web applications
Experience working and testing REST API's
Experience with Agile/Scrum software development methodologies and strong understanding of engineering best practices

As a Lead Software Engineer, you’ll wear two hats: driving complex technical projects from conception to delivery while coding alongside the team, and providing people leadership to a small group of direct reports (3–5 engineers). Ad Safety is a growing team focusing on user safety and advertiser trust by building a robust, automated ecosystem that prioritizes Brand Suitability and Ads Integrity. This is achieved by deploying highly accurate automated ad review systems that vet content before it goes live, coupled with advanced brand safety classifications and controls that give brands granular agency over their ad adjacency along with ensuring Reddit standards are adhered to. By further integrating with trusted third-party verification partners, the platform not only solidifies confidence in its ad effectiveness but also creates a transparent, scalable environment designed to unlock significant revenue growth.
The team is expanding its Fraud counter-measures by consolidating the identification and enforcement of deceptive ads (Malware, Phishing, Scams) and Billing fraud into a centralized platform. Collecting signals across multiple surfaces, in addition to third party vendor integration, will allow for more effective measures to analyze coordinated efforts of bad actors and pre-emptive detection of malignant intent.

As a QA Engineer on the Platform & Enablement team, you'll be a key part of the team shaping how QA is done at scale across impact.com. While product squads focus on shipping their features, the Platform & Enablement team makes sure they have the frameworks, tooling, training, and reference patterns to do so with confidence — and you'll be the engineer making that happen for our US-region squads day-to-day.
You'll work closely with QA Analysts and SDETs across product teams, helping them adopt our shared frameworks, write better tests, and unblock when they hit walls. About the position

You’ll own problems end-to-end: digging into complex business logic in existing codebases, designing solutions that bridge legacy and modern architectures, and shipping code that serves thousands of travel professionals daily. Some days you’ll be untangling decade-old stored procedures and intricate SQL schemas; others you’ll be architecting event-driven services on Azure. We need someone who finds that variety energizing.
You’ll work within our Agile framework - two-week sprints, daily stand-ups - but we expect you to drive your own work: collaborating directly with QA, Product, and stakeholders; pushing back when needed; and helping teammates grow. Documentation matters here; we use JIRA and Confluence extensively, and your tickets and design docs should be clear enough that anyone can pick up where you left off.

Compensation
We provide a competitive compensation package with a strong pay-for-performance rewards approach. Employees have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and compensation tied to business and individual performance. The expected compensation range for this position is: $110,000 to $120,000.
The actual compensation may vary depending on local market conditions, geography, and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
