Mission

Become a team player within the Security team by supporting log monitoring, incident response tasks and security automation. Collaborating with DevOps peers to ensure security best practices are followed for Cloud environment and deployment pipelines. Work closely with Revenue Operations to provide guidance on security configuration of their tooling. 

Competencies

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system security engineering, incident response or DevSecOps.
• Knowledge of security principles, best practices, and industry standards, such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Critical Security Controls.
• Hands-on experience with security technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antivirus, and vulnerability scanning tools.
• Proven experience with incident response methodologies.
• Experience with cloud platforms, GCP, and common security controls within these environments, including container security.

Primary Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents, escalating significant incidents to senior analysts or management. 
• Design and build security automation mechanisms such as secure CI/CD pipelines with integrated SAST, DAST, SCA, IaC scanning, and container security.
• Perform vulnerability assessments, assist with remediation tracking, and support continuous improvement of the organisation’s security posture. 
• Maintain and improve operational security controls, including endpoint protection, access reviews, log monitoring, and cloud configuration checks to strengthen overall security posture.
• Configure, troubleshoot and maintain security infrastructure, software and hardware.
• Install software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions. 
• Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures. 
• Educate and train staff on information system security best practices for monitoring and secure deployment.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement high-quality native mobile SDKs that enable developers to integrate embedded wallet functionality into their applications, with a strong focus on API ergonomics, performance, and reliability.
• Own SDK features end-to-end: from API design and architecture, through implementation and testing, to release, versioning, and developer documentation.
• Build and maintain secure, reliable SDK components for wallet operations, including cryptographic operations, blockchain interactions, and security-sensitive flows.
• Define and evolve the SDK architecture to support long-term maintainability, backward compatibility, and adoption across diverse customer applications.

You will deploy and maintain our edge data centers for compute, AI and storage, contribute to the installation, migration, updates and integration of hypervisor services and modules. Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions which include: Kubernetes on bare metal, Proxmox and Ceph

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a customer-facing Premium Services role that combines deep, hands-on Ceph architecture and administration with the high-touch, outcome-driven approach of a Senior Designated Services Engineer (DSE). You will be the primary Ceph subject matter expert for assigned strategic customers and internal initiatives, owning the design, deployment, lifecycle operations, and performance of Ceph-based object storage environments. In parallel, you will play a key role in ensuring WEKA's Customer Success, contributing to our five-star Gartner reviews. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and top-tier customers, providing technical expertise and strengthening customer relationships.

Collaborating closely with Account Teams, you will gain deep insight into customers' business requirements, technical needs, and system environments. Your role involves resolving technical issues, bridging gaps between customers and Engineering, and ensuring the highest level of service.

Ceph Architecture & Operations

• Architect, deploy, and operate large-scale production Ceph clusters supporting S3 with an emphasis on availability, performance, and operational simplicity.
• Own cluster lifecycle activities: upgrades, patching, configuration management, routine health checks, and proactive risk remediation.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across the Ceph stack, lead incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Establish and maintain runbooks, operational best practices, and customer-facing documentation; drive continuous improvement in reliability, observability, and automation.
• Partner with customer teams on security and compliance requirements
• Advise on hardware and topology choices to meet workload requirements.

Designated Services Engineering 

• Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and WEKA Engineering/Product to address feature gaps, reliability concerns, and documentation improvements.
• Own, track, and document customer issues via the ticketing system; drive issues to resolution with clear, timely communication and executive-ready updates when needed.
• Proactively monitor customer environments (Ceph and WEKA) using observability and remote monitoring tools to identify and remediate risks before they impact production.

• Develop deeper expertise in S3-compatible object storage concepts and ecosystems (clients, load balancing, performance testing, multi-tenancy), with mentorship from WEKA SMEs.

Requirements

We’re looking for a senior, customer-facing engineer who can lead Ceph architecture and operations today, and who is excited to grow into a broader object-storage and WEKA role.

• 10+ years in customer-facing technical roles solving complex enterprise infrastructure issues.
• 5+ years of hands-on Ceph experience in production: cluster design, deployment, upgrades, and day-2 operations.
• Strong understanding of Ceph internals and operational mechanics: MON quorum, MGR active/standby, OSD behavior, CRUSH and CRUSH maps, pools and placement groups (PGs), recovery/backfill and rebalancing.
• Experience operating large-scale (multi-PB) Ceph environments and navigating the operational challenges of fleet size, PG scaling, and long-running recovery events.
• Practical experience with Ceph RGW and S3 concepts (buckets, users/tenants, load balancing, scaling patterns, performance troubleshooting).
• Expertise in Linux/Unix administration in multi-platform, distributed environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, networking, and distributed storage layers (including diagnosing performance bottlenecks and failure scenarios).
• Deep understanding of networking (Infiniband, Ethernet, DPDK, UCX), cloud computing, and distributed storage.

We are seeking a Senior Backend / Platform Engineer with strong backend engineering experience and the ability to contribute to our mobile app as needed (approximately 70% backend / 30% mobile). In this role, you will maintain and evolve our platform capabilities powering the Fraîche experience — including backend services built with PHP and Symfony, data systems (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch), message queues, Redis, and infrastructure operations. You will also contribute to the Fraîche mobile app (Flutter preferred, React Native acceptable) for hardware-aware and user-facing features. Responsibilities:

• Develop & Improve Platform and Services: Build new backend features and enhance existing functionality in our PHP/Symfony services that power the Fraîche mobile app and operational tooling. Ensure reliable integrations across PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, message queues, and Redis.
• Infrastructure & Platform Support: Own and improve platform reliability, scalability, and operational excellence. The system currently runs on Upsun infrastructure; help maintain and optimize it while preparing for a potential migration from Upsun to AWS in the near future.
• Collaborate on Migration Strategy: Work with the team to plan and gradually implement a potential migration of infrastructure (and related components) to AWS, aligning with CookUnity’s broader B2B tech stack. Be open to adopting new tools and best practices as the platform evolves.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with frontend/mobile engineers, backend and full-stack engineers across B2B (including Fraîche) to integrate APIs and ensure smooth end-to-end functionality. Work with product managers and operations teams to refine requirements and improve user workflows.
• Hardware & IoT Integration (Backend Focus): Implement backend solutions that support interaction with our smart fridge hardware — for example, secure fridge unlock workflows, real-time inventory updates, and robust event processing via message queues. Bring creative ideas to make fridge-user interactions more seamless and automated.
• Mobile Contributions (Approx. 30%): Contribute to the Fraîche mobile app to support hardware-aware flows and critical user journeys, ideally using Flutter (or React Native). Collaborate with mobile-focused engineers to ensure app changes integrate cleanly with backend services.
• Quality & Best Practices: Write clean, maintainable code with proper architecture, testing, and observability. Participate in code reviews and ensure high performance, reliability, and responsiveness across backend systems. Qualifications:

• Backend Experience (PHP/Symfony): Senior-level backend engineer with multiple production experiences building and deploying backend systems using PHP and Symfony (or comparable frameworks). Demonstrated ownership of services, APIs, and production operations.
• Data Stores & Search: Strong experience working with PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch, including data modeling, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
• Async Processing & Caching: Proficiency with message queues (publish/consume patterns, retries, idempotency) and Redis (caching, rate limiting, locks, pub/sub as applicable).

The Role:

• We are looking for a Tech Enablement Engineer to join our B2B Operations team, where you will play a key role in building and optimizing the internal technology that powers CookUnity’s B2B initiatives.
• In this role, you’ll work closely with the Tech Enablement Lead (to whom you will report) and collaborate with stakeholders across operations, product, and engineering to deliver innovative solutions.
• You’ll be developing end-to-end automation workflows, creating internal web/mobile applications, maintaining custom hardware setups (like our smart fridge prototypes), and managing integrations with third-party software.
• This is a great opportunity for a mid-level engineer who enjoys working on a wide range of technologies – from scripting and full-stack development to IoT devices and AI tools – all with the goal of improving efficiency and enabling growth.

Responsibilities:

• Build & Optimize Automations: Ideate, develop, and maintain end-to-end automation workflows to streamline internal processes. This includes using low-code tools (like n8n) and custom scripts (SQL, Google Cloud Functions, Apps Script, Node.js/Python) to connect APIs, databases, and services, reducing manual work for our teams.
• Full-Stack Internal Tools: Create and enhance internal applications for web and mobile. You’ll work with modern front-end frameworks (e.g. React/Next.js) and back-end code (Node.js, Python, SQL) to build tools that improve our Ops and B2B services. You will also set up CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar) to deploy these tools efficiently.
• Hardware (IoT): Contribute to the development and upkeep of custom hardware solutions, such as our Raspberry Pi–powered smart fridges. This involves working with electronic locks, sensors, cameras, and integrating computer vision capabilities. You’ll help ensure these devices are remotely accessible, regularly updated, and functioning reliably in the field.
• Third-Party Integrations: Manage and improve integrations with external software used by the team (such as Zendesk, Aircall, Jira, etc.). This could mean configuring integrations, writing custom API wrappers or webhooks, and ensuring data flows smoothly between CookUnity’s systems and these platforms.
• AI Tools & Agents: Experiment with and build AI-driven tools to support the team’s objectives. For example, you might prototype AI agents or chatbots to assist with support tasks or data analysis, leveraging frameworks or APIs for natural language processing.
• Marketing & CRM Support: Work closely with our Marketing and Data teams to automate their workflows. This can include connecting marketing automation platforms, writing scripts to handle data ingestion or transformation for Salesforce, and implementing validation rules or triggers in our CRM to maintain data integrity. You’ll also help create custom Salesforce dashboard components or integrations as needed.
• Documentation & Handover: Document all your solutions and processes clearly. Because Tech Enablement often pioneers new tools and workflows, you will ensure that everything built is well-documented and can be easily handed over or transitioned to Product/Engineering teams for long-term ownership. You’ll create how-to guides, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks to facilitate smooth knowledge transfer.

Minimum Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in software development, with hands-on exposure to a broad range of technologies.
• Proficiency in coding with JavaScript/TypeScript and Python. You have built scripts or services in these languages and are comfortable with both front-end and back-end development.
• Experience developing web applications using modern frameworks (for example, React/Next.js on the front end and Node.js or Python on the back end).
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and webhooks, and experience integrating with third-party APIs or SDKs.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and ability to write and optimize SQL queries.
• Experience with automation workflows or low-code platforms (such as n8n, Zapier, or similar), or demonstrated ability to design custom automation scripts to connect various systems.
• Basic knowledge of cloud services and DevOps: comfortable deploying apps or functions on cloud platforms (e.g. Google Cloud Functions, AWS Lambda) and using CI/CD pipelines for version control and deployment.
• Exposure to working with hardware or IoT projects (even if hobbyist): you can configure devices, install OS/software on a Raspberry Pi (Linux), and troubleshoot connectivity or sensor issues.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across different domains (software, hardware, integrations).
• Fluent English communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to effectively communicate technical ideas to non-technical team members and collaborate across teams in English.
• Fluency with AI engineering tools.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with workflow automation tools like n8n (self-hosted or cloud), Zapier, or HubSpot workflows, especially in an operations context.
• Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi or Arduino projects, and familiarity with protocols (GPIO, I2C, etc.) or using camera modules for computer vision.
• Knowledge of Salesforce (or other CRM) data structure and APIs, including building data pipelines or using ETL tools to feed data into Salesforce, and understanding of Salesforce Process Builder/Flow or validation rules.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services (Firestore, Cloud Functions, etc.) and/or other cloud providers (AWS, Azure) for building and hosting applications.
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts or prior experience integrating AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI GPT) into applications or bots.
• Experience with customer support and marketing tools (e.g., Zendesk, Aircall, email marketing platforms) and implementing tech solutions around them.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment where you’ll have to wear multiple hats and coordinate with diverse teams.
• A self-starter attitude with curiosity and willingness to continuously learn new technologies and tools.
