The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Application Engineer who thrives on solving hard problems with code. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work at the cutting edge of generative AI in a high-impact role with autonomy and ownership. While we are a remote-first company, the nature of this role requires candidates to be based in the Buenos Aires area.

What You’ll Do

• Debug and fix issues in our platform (and ship PRs with your fixes).
• Build internal tools and copilots powered by generative AI to supercharge our team.
• Rapidly prototype proof-of-concepts for customer use cases.
• Work across Engineering, Product, and Solutions to unblock customers and push the boundaries of AI adoption.

What We’re Looking For

• You have 2-5 years of experience in software.
• Strong in Python and Golang; comfortable shipping fixes in production systems.
• Hands-on with generative AI (LLM APIs, frameworks, building copilots or automations)
• Hands-on with OpenTelemetry and deep familiarity with distributed tracing concepts.
• Familiarity with AI frameworks (CrewAI, Langchain, Langgraph, DiFy, LiteLLM, etc).
• Familiarity or eagerness to learn JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Great debugger, creative problem solver, and fast learner.
• Independent and resourceful. You create solutions, not dependencies.

Bonus Points (but not required!)

• Experience in a customer-facing role
• Built copilots, plugins, or custom GenAI-powered applications.
• Open-sourced or contributed PRs to real codebases.
• Startup or fast-moving environment experience.

What you'll do

Coming on as an expert, you’ll join one of our tight knit, cross functional Product Engineering teams, contributing to expanding the value that the Stensul platform offers to world class customers by implementing high quality solutions that meet the most demanding expectations. This gives you the unique ability to collaborate with Product, Design and QA experts to discover and solve for new market opportunities in an agile manner. • Extensive knowledge of web server-side oriented languages (i.e. PHP, Javascript for Node.js, Python, Golang)
• Knowledge of relational and document oriented databases (i.e. MySQL, MongoDB)
• Knowledge of memory stored system  (i.e. Redis, Memcached)
• Knowledge of web architectures, services and APIs concepts
• Experience developing microservices

Responsibilities

• Facilitate, lead, document and communicate architectural and technical discussions and decisions in the team, assessing risks and tradeoffs, and making sure all voices are heard, while favoring consent over consensus.

About the Role

The Service Provisioning team is building the internal platform that manages the lifecycle of over 3,000 microservices. As we modernize our core infrastructure, we are moving away from legacy tools to a more resilient, scalable platform that empowers Nubank engineers to deploy and manage services with ease.

We are looking for a talented engineer to help us achieve a fully automated, dynamic, and safe cloud infrastructure. The core goal is to enable Nubank's massive scaling targets and improve developer experience by:

• Designing an Infrastructure Control Plane: Creating a unified system that is decoupled from any fixed infrastructure topology, allowing us to provision resources and deploy applications anywhere—across regions and accounts—with unprecedented flexibility.
• Driving Operational Safety and Efficiency: Implementing first-class mechanisms for safely rolling out large-scale infrastructure changes to over 3,000 applications. This includes resolving systemic issues like circular dependencies and eliminating complex, high-friction manual steps in our provisioning workflows.
• Streamlining Deployment: Introducing a simplified, robust application configuration and manifest generation process that integrates directly into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring faster time-to-market for new features and reducing operational overhead.
