We are hiring an experienced Security Software Engineer (Staff or Senior) for our Infrastructure Security team to design and build scalable security controls and services within MongoDB Atlas multi-cloud infrastructure.

The team sits within the Site Reliability Engineering organization and works with other engineering teams to ensure that our infrastructure adheres to the highest security standards.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build core security primitives and services that protect MongoDB Atlas compute, networking, and identity across AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Build secure-by-default infrastructure using Linux security mechanisms (AppArmor, SELinux, seccomp, cgroups), Kubernetes, and eBPF to enforce runtime policies and gain deep visibility into systems behaviour
• Develop APIs, automation, and tooling that manage security posture at scale (CSPM, vulnerability management, workload identity) and provide monitoring, logging, and alerting pipelines that integrate with our tooling (Grafana, Splunk, Victoria Metrics.)
• Integrate security into our CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code workflows (Terraform) so that security controls are versioned, reviewed, and deployed just like any other code
• Lead complex projects end‑to‑end, from problem discovery and design docs to implementation, rollout, and long‑term ownership
• Collaborate with SRE, platform and product engineering teams to define secure architectures for new infrastructure and services

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar roles, preferably with relevant security work

COMPENSATION

onX is committed to compensating all employees fairly and equitably for their contributions. For this position, applicants can expect to make between $146,000 to $182,000 upon hire. The anticipated base pay range for this position is $160,000 to $200,000/year. Striveworks’ total compensation package includes a competitive base salary, equity grants, and cash bonuses.

About The Role

This engineer will play a critical role in scaling and hardening Grocery TV’s backend systems as the platform continues to grow. This engineer will work across APIs, content delivery pipelines, and media network orchestration services to improve system resiliency, performance, and reliability. Operating at a Senior II  level, this role is expected to lead and execute backend initiatives end-to-end, bring strong system design judgment, and translate business and product needs into durable technical solutions. This position partners closely with Product and other Software Engineers to ensure backend systems support both current execution and long-term platform strategy.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-scale backend services using Go
• Lead implementation of backend projects that improve system reliability, resiliency, and performance
• Design and evolve API-first services that support customer-facing and internal applications
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design for future initiatives
• Partner with Product to scope, plan, and execute backend work aligned with business goals
• Identify and remediate performance bottlenecks and reliability risks across distributed systems

Requirements / Experience

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience

• Experience designing and operating high-scale, high-volume backend systems
• Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts and tradeoffs
• Experience building API-first services, including customer-facing APIs
• Familiarity with system reliability, performance tuning, and fault tolerance strategies
• Experience working with relational databases and data stores in production environments
