Inovalon is a leading cloud-based healthcare technology company that leverages data analytics and AI to drive meaningful improvements across the healthcare ecosystem. The Senior Full-Stack Machine Learning Engineer sits within the Insights Business Unit, which serves as Inovalon’s central AI and machine learning hub. This team partners with Provider, Payer, and Pharmacy business units to identify, build, and deploy AI solutions that improve clinical and operational outcomes at scale.
In this role, you will contribute to both classical machine learning and generative AI applications, including LLM-based and agentic solutions. You will work across the full model development lifecycle on a modern, cloud-native AWS stack, collaborating closely with AI Product Managers and a distributed team of senior engineers across the U.S. and India.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, train, and deploy machine learning models spanning classical ML (classification, regression, clustering, time-series) and generative AI use cases including LLM-based and agentic applications.
- Build and maintain cloud-native solutions on AWS using containerized architectures (Docker, Kubernetes) to support scalable model serving and data pipelines.
- Own and contribute to the full Model Development Lifecycle (MDLC), including dataset versioning, model versioning, model registry management, and model evaluation frameworks.
- Develop and integrate Python-based ML components that work seamlessly with existing product platforms across multiple business units.
- Collaborate with AI Product Managers across the Insights BU and partner business units (Provider, Payer, Pharmacy) to translate business needs into AI solutions.
- Apply neural networks and deep learning techniques using PyTorch for appropriate use cases alongside scikit-learn-based classical approaches.
- Write robust, production-ready code following engineering best practices; participate in code and design reviews.
- Leverage AI coding tools (such as Claude Code or equivalent) as part of your daily development workflow to improve velocity and code quality.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge-sharing around ML best practices, tooling, and architecture decisions.
- Support integration of frontend components into ML-powered features where applicable.
- Contribute to retrospectives and team process improvements; actively participate in sprint planning and end-of-iteration demos.
- Adhere to all HIPAA, data governance, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements in all aspects of work.
- Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures, and mission statement, fulfilling responsibilities that support operational and financial success.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 5 years of software development experience with a strong foundation in machine learning fundamentals and model training.
- Expert-level Python proficiency; Python is the team’s primary language and is the highest-priority technical requirement.
- Hands-on experience building and deploying classical ML models in production using scikit-learn.
- Demonstrated experience with generative AI, LLMs, or agentic application development.
- Proficiency with PyTorch and neural network architectures.
- Practical knowledge of the Model Development Lifecycle (MDLC): dataset versioning, model versioning, model registry, and model evaluation.
- AWS cloud experience, including deploying and managing cloud-native workloads.
- Containerization experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving ability; demonstrated capacity to work independently and take ownership of complex technical challenges.
- Daily usage of AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) as part of standard development workflow.
Preferred
- Experience with database technologies (SQL or NoSQL); familiarity with data pipeline tooling.
- Frontend development skills to support full-stack ML feature work.
- Healthcare domain experience or exposure to HIPAA-regulated environments.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field required.
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

The Reliability Engineering team partners across Anduril's engineering, manufacturing, and operations organizations to ensure our autonomous systems survive real-world conditions and deliver consistent performance for our customers. Our mandate spans the complete product lifecycle - from early concept design through production scale-up and fielded operations. We use data, statistical methods, and engineering analysis to forecast how our systems will perform over time and influence design decisions, including part selection, redundancy strategies, and maintenance approaches. We establish tailored reliability frameworks by program and partner with Quality to drive design robustness, failure prevention, and rapid response to issues in the field.
ABOUT THE JOB
We are seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our rapidly growing team in Atlanta, GA, driving reliability for our Altius product line. Altius is a versatile platform designed to provide on-demand capability that can be launched from ground, air, or sea to conduct a variety of mission types. This is a hands-on role focused on embedding reliability into early product architecture and detailed design - from early concept trade studies through design validation and launch integration. You'll be the reliability champion throughout the design and development process, working closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams to ensure designs are robust. Your responsibilities will include conducting reliability predictions and allocations during architecture trades, leading design FMEAs and fault tree analyses to identify and mitigate failure modes, developing and executing design verification test plans, performing stress-derating analysis and parts selection reviews, and assessing design changes for reliability impact throughout the development cycle. The right person for this role brings deep technical knowledge of hardware reliability and failure mechanisms, has practical experience on product development programs, and can engage credibly with design engineers and Anduril's subcontractors on technical details while maintaining focus on system-level reliability outcomes. This role demands someone who can embed early in design cycles, influence engineering decisions with data and analysis, and take ownership of reliability outcomes as designs mature from concept to launch readiness.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Support and review system block diagrams, interface control documents, and schematics for compliance, redundancy, and accuracy against requirements and concept of operations.
- Lead Failure Modes & Effects Analysis efforts and collaborate with cross-functional Engineering teams to implement product improvements for Reliability.
- Perform predictive reliability analysis to calculate probability of loss of control, loss of asset, and MTTF/MTBF utilizing Anduril requirements, specifications, and relevant industry standards (i.e. MIL-HDBK-217Plus).
- Develop Qualification Test plans to ensure appropriate requirements coverage, and work with Test Engineering to fixture, instrument, and execute test campaigns.
- Develop Maintainability prediction models using MIL-HDBK-472, and support the development of Preventative Maintenance & Sparing plans.
- Perform Weibull analysis utilizing data from Qualification campaigns and from fielded assets.
- Partner with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure design specifications and requirements are embedded in the manufacturing process and ensure acceptance test gates are validated against requirements.
- Use data analysis techniques to highlight key problem areas for deployed products, and drive root cause analysis & corrective action implementation.
- Develop and implement Reliability processes for the business to improve and streamline our Design, Manufacturing, and Deployment Operations efforts for rapid development.
- Support Development Milestone Reviews through identification of appropriate entry and exit criteria, and work with Quality Engineering to guide the hand off process to production.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 8 years experience as a Reliability Engineer or Design/Development Engineer
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
- Experience with safety-critical hardware & software systems in the defense or aerospace industry, with a preference for experience with unmanned drone or aircraft systems
- Experience or familiarity with MIL-STD-810, MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-516C, and MIL-STD-1629
- Experience setting up a Reliability Engineering framework for a product or program, including support of production testing, field testing, data acquisition, and data analysis
- Expertise in reliability analysis techniques, including FMEA/FMECA, predictive modeling, Weibull analysis, and Fault Tree Analysis
- Experience with generating qualification testing requirements and executing tests to proactively characterize product behavior and performance
- Failure investigation/analysis experience with proven track record of solving problems and preventing reoccurrence
- Design Review Experience (PDR, CDR, MRR) and confident in presentation skills across all levels of leadership
- Eligibility to obtain/maintain a U.S. Secret clearance, as required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- M.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline
- Experience with DO-254, DO-178, MIL-HDBK-217Plus, MIL-HDBK-472, ARP-4754

- Experience with risk management, change control/change management reviews, and software/firmware HITL/SITL
- Experience with HALT (Highly Accelerated Life Testing), HASS (Highly Accelerated Stress Screening), Environmental Testing, and/or Mechanical Testing
- Technical writing experience developing requirements, standards, specifications, user guides, and policies

What You'll Do:
You will be tasked with solving the toughest wireless problems our products face: translating research into resilient, high-performance PHY/MAC systems; architecting firmware and toolchains that meet extreme latency, power, and reliability targets; and defining the wireless roadmap that balances innovation, manufacturability, and real-world performance. You will shape how our devices connect and perform at scale — from lab prototypes to deployed fleets — and your work will be judged by field performance under real conditions, not just simulations. This mission-critical wireless systems require both RF understanding and deep systems software expertise. This position sits at that boundary and defines the reliability and trust of the entire communications platform..
- Lead design and implementation of wireless communication stacks (LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, sidelink, mesh, P2P, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC....)
- Architect low-latency, high-reliability PTT and real-time voice transport systems
- Develop transport abstraction layers across multiple radios and networks
- Optimize performance (latency, jitter, packet loss, handover behavior)
- Collaborate with RF, hardware, and firmware teams to ensure end-to-end system performance
- Drive modem integration (e.g., Qualcomm, MediaTek) and carrier certification efforts
- Implement QoS, prioritization, and congestion control mechanisms
- Contribute to secure communication layers (encryption, key management, secure boot integration)
- Define metrics and instrumentation for wireless performance at scale
- Mentor engineers and set technical direction across projects
What You Bring
- 10+ years experience in wireless software development
- Strong C/C++ experience in embedded or systems environments
- Deep understanding of wireless protocols (LTE, 5G NR, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, sidelink, or mesh)
- Experience working with modem vendors (e.g., Qualcomm SDKs)
- Experience with real-time systems and low-latency audio transport
- Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, RTP, QUIC, QoS)
- Familiarity with RF performance constraints (RSSI, SINR, handovers, link budgets)
- Experience debugging packet-level and radio-layer issues

Your Impact
This is an important client-facing role with an opportunity to lead and mature professionally in an accelerated business growth environment. Reports to: Manager, Solutions Architect
- Work as a client-facing member of the Software Solutions Delivery Team
- Work with a team of networking and software professionals to deliver Axon technology to small and mid-market, T1200, and Majors clients across various industries including public safety
- Analyze IT system architectures for the purposes of scoping technical projects and recommending system improvements, addressing Information Security evaluations and completing architecture review boards
- Manage technical projects remotely and at client sites
- Engage with client’s technical and non-technical leadership to communicate project progress
- Work with account management team to ensure customer needs are being met
- Ensure the highest level of service for Axon software deployments
- Identify integration opportunities between agency systems (cloud and/or on-prem) and Axon’s products
- Recommend deployment plans for identified integrations that drive key outcomes for the agency
- Work closely with project team, product, engineering, sales, and agency technical stakeholders to understand agency goals and program outcomes
- Capture requirements, implement third-party solutions in development environments, perform initial reviews to determine feasibility of integration, document technical capabilities required to meet business requirements, work with Director of Integrations and developers to build, test, and deploy new integrations
- Work with the Director of Integrations and developers to build and document integrations and support requirements
- Write code to leverage API capabilities to optimize implementation tasks, working with DevOps to merge code that is used for repetitive tasks (e.g., Camera management and maintenance, dynamic data integration)
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience in analyzing and developing technical systems and software solutions
- Expert networking knowledge and experience in managing technical projects, implementations, and integrations from inception to successful completion, including LAN/WAN, security, IP Video and Video Management Systems
- Expert-level understanding of Linux frameworks, including containerization platforms (Docker preferred)
- Advanced understanding of cloud technologies as well as software development packages and data management tools
- Advanced experience with IT business processes including Architecture Review Boards, IT Security Reviews,
- Advanced hands-on experience with APIs structures and systems integration (REST, SOAP)
- Advanced skills in SQL, Python, Java, and Cloud (AWS and/or Azure)
- Demonstrated system-level understanding of enterprise software systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills: demonstrated ability to work with all levels of technical proficiency to understand needs and communicate work
- Project Management experience and/or certifications (i.e., PMI Certifications) are a plus, but not required
- Willingness to join forces and drive company-wide initiatives across multiple departments
- Able to effectively manage multiple projects, priorities, and tasks within a dynamic environment

What You’ll Do

Reports to: Manager, Technical Support
- Work closely with Law Enforcement customers to ensure a stellar experience with Axon’s Fusus products & services.
- Become an expert on the Fusus solution, available apps, APIs, and roadmap
- Join Forces with Axon Teams to triage and prioritize agency change and feature requests
- Lead consultative Solution Audits for prospects, including detailed network analysis, device discovery, and documentation.
- Provide frontline email & phone support to customers for complex technical issues
- Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve Axon device and system issues directly with customers via phone & email
- Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are fully functional after troubleshooting
- Assist the tier 1 support team by answering questions, aiding in troubleshooting efforts, and training
- Log & provide detailed notes on each customer interaction
- Develop knowledgebase articles
- Solve problems effectively in an ever-evolving environment* Report bugs and trends to the necessary Axon teams
- Participate in an on-call rotation for outages or other critical escalations as needed
- Determine the urgency of issues for each client and their placement in the prioritization of issues for their entire group of assigned clients

What You Bring
- Must have intellectual curiosity, humility, accountability, and positive approach
- Network and telecommunication-specific professional certifications, such as but not limited to: CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.
- Minimum of 3 years experience with routing and switching
- Minimum of 3 years of Technical Support experience
- Minimum of 2 year of SaaS experience

- Operational knowledge of computer/server hardware, Linux operating systems, and storage devices

As a Senior SRE on the APX SRE CloudOps team, you will design and build the cloud infrastructure and automation platforms that Axon's product engineering teams depend on. Your Impact
As a Senior SRE on the APX SRE CloudOps team, you will design and build the cloud infrastructure and automation platforms that Axon's product engineering teams depend on. You will architect solutions for multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS), FedRAMP compliance boundaries, and large-scale Kubernetes platforms serving production workloads across multiple regions. You will spend a significant portion of your time writing code: building services, APIs, and internal tooling using languages like Go and Python. You will also participate in on-call rotations and incident response, using operational experience to drive reliability improvements and inform platform investment. This role combines software engineering depth with cloud architecture at scale and production ownership.
Location - This role is based out of our Atlanta (Peachtree Corners), Seattle, or Boston office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation. What You'll Do
- Design and implement services, APIs, and automation tooling that improve cloud infrastructure reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Write production-quality code in Go, Python, or similar. Lead design reviews and set code quality standards within the team.
- Build robust, easy-to-use foundational platforms and tools that enable engineering teams to provision services rapidly, consistently, securely, and cost-effectively.
- Architect cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS, including Kubernetes platforms, networking, and identity boundaries.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response. Use operational experience to identify systemic reliability risks and drive platform improvements.
- Foresee and mitigate risks in infrastructure design: single points of failure, scaling bottlenecks, security gaps, and compliance drift.
- Influence and educate the engineering organization to adopt new and improved architectural patterns.
- Leverage AI tooling and agentic workflows to accelerate engineering delivery and operational automation.
- Provide robust documentation for use by engineers to promote self-service.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code review, design guidance, and pairing.
What You Bring
- This position involves handling of classified federal data; under federal regulations, it is open to U.S. citizens only.
- 8+ years of applicable experience in software engineering, cloud infrastructure, or site reliability engineering.
- Experience designing and operating cloud platforms at scale across Azure, AWS, or similar.
- Proficiency in one or more managed languages (Go, Python, Java, C#) in the context of building services, not just scripting.
- Experience architecting and operating Kubernetes platforms (AKS, EKS, or similar) at production scale.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, or similar) for managing multi-environment, multi-region infrastructure.
- Experience utilizing CI/CD platforms to automate provisioning infrastructure, software builds, tests, and releases.
- Experience using observability tools such as APM, logging, and metrics to assist with debugging issues.
- Track record of leading design reviews, writing technical proposals, and setting engineering standards within a team.
- Builder-operator mindset with proven production ownership (uptime, SLOs, on-call, incident leadership).
- Experience mentoring engineers and conducting technical interviews.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate engineering workflows is a strong plus.

Your Impact
The Real Time Operations division at Axon is on a mission to provide the best-in-class situational awareness software to emergency responders in order to make them more effective and efficient in managing life-and-death situations. As a staff software engineer, you will be joining our team focused on building a fast and performant real-time crime center application that can ingest real-time signals from devices at scale, and provide emergency responders with the features and functionality to focus on the most pertinent information for dealing with the situation at hand. You will take the lead for designing and building critical systems across the cloud, web, and mobile to direct first responders to where they are most needed.
You will join forces with device, other back-end, and front end teams to efficiently source realtime geo-located data from devices in the field such as patrol cars, body cameras and drones. You will join forces with communications teams responsible for streaming realtime media feeds and other signals from devices. You will join forces with application, customer and third party teams to ensure our users have other data they need to make tough decisions. You will write code that efficiently brings these data feeds together on a single map, allowing our users to make better decisions, saving lives.
In this role, you will be reporting to director of engineering for the Real Time Operations division. As a technical leader, you will be advising the division on the right long-term technical initiatives to invest in, and act as a force multiplier on the team, working intimately with other senior engineers in the division to guide and grow them. You are a great collaborator and coach, and will mentor our next set of senior engineers.
Your customer empathy and eagerness to understand users and their problems allows you to balance competing business and engineering priorities, helping to steer the team to achieve the best outcomes.

Reports to: Director of Engineering
- Be the technical leader of our device state/notifications, partner integration and mobile apps teams for Real Time Operations division
- Lead designs of major software components, systems, and features.
- Review key architecture designs from senior engineers across other teams, and enforce a high bar on availability, performance, and usability in this mission-critical space
- Set a high technical bar for the team by writing well-tested, maintainable code and leading code and technical design reviews
- Join forces with other senior engineers on assessing the top engineering risks and guiding the organization on which strategic engineering initiatives to invest in
- Mentor and coach other senior engineers and grow the next set of technical leaders for the organization
- Work across teams with Product, Design, and Engineering to drive and deliver on our product roadmap
- Deliver groundbreaking experiences that help improve safety and efficiency of our users globally.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of professional software development experience
- Proven track record of designing and building complex, highly-available cloud systems
- Experience with different types of data storage systems, such as relational and NoSQL databases
- Experience with stream processing (Message brokers)
- (Nice to have) Experience with web frontend technologies like React, Redux and Typescript
- (Nice to have) Experience working with native mobile apps iOS or Android
- (Nice to have) Experience with Maps/Cartography
- Mentored and grown other senior software engineers
- Can walk in the customer’s shoes, and collaborate with product and design on designing features that delight customers
