• Protect the Merchant: You will champion our "Merchant-First" principles, ensuring that as protocols evolve, they prioritize merchant control, data privacy, and liability protection.
• The Regulatory Architect: You will navigate the unique complexity of the European landscape. You will become the subject matter expert on how Agentic Commerce intersects with PSD2, SCA, and GDPR, turning regulatory compliance into a competitive moat for our merchants.
• Cross-Border Complexity: You will help global merchants solve the "fragmentation" problem, ensuring their agentic flows work seamlessly across borders, currencies, and local payment methods.

Who you are

• Experience: 6-8 years of experience in commercial-facing or GTM strategy roles. Previous experience in payments or financial technology is a plus
• A Strategic Builder: You are comfortable working with ambiguity. You don't need a finished brochure to have a commercial conversation; you can co-create a solution with a client.
• Commercially Sharp: You have a track record of navigating complex enterprise organizations and driving strategic initiatives that result in real volume, not just press releases.
• Technically Fluent: You can explain the difference between a Network Token and a Virtual Card to a CFO, and debate API schemas with a Product Manager. You understand the nuances of the payments stack.
• Curious about AI infrastructure. You are not an ML engineer, but you follow how agentic systems are evolving - agentic frameworks, how AI agents make decisions and initiate transactions. Familiarity with emerging agent protocols and how model providers are approaching commerce is a plus. 
• Anti-Hype: You cut through the noise. You focus on solving real operational problems (inventory visibility, authentication, liability) rather than selling science fiction.
• Collaborative: You thrive in a flat structure. You will be working closely across Commercial, Product, Legal, and Partnerships teams to clear hurdles, resolve challenges in real-time.

Agentic commerce is in its infrastructure phase. The protocols, standards, and commercial models are being written and tested right now. In this role, you won't be executing an established playbook, you will be authoring it. Adyen processes payments for many of the world's largest, most sophisticated enterprises, which means the decisions we make here will shape how AI-initiated transactions work at scale, not just in theory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Development: Act as the primary architect for designing and refining incentive plans (Sales, SDR, AM, and Partnerships) that align with evolving business goals.
• Data Analysis & Strategic Reporting: Analyze performance trends and the effectiveness of current plans to provide leadership with data-driven insights for calibration.
• Leadership Partnering: Serve as the main point of contact for commercial engine leadership and enablement teams regarding incentive strategy.
• System Input: Provide strategic requirements for system developments to ensure tools support long-term incentive goals.
• Escalations: Handle high-level support escalations and complex exceptions within the commission programs
• Cross function collaboration - close relationship with rewards team on defining best-in-class compensation model, including market analysis with competitors

Core Qualifications:

• Extensive experience (3-5+ years) in incentive strategy or compensation design.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn complex data into strategic recommendations.
• Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects at the same time
• Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to efficiently and effectively solve problems
• Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with senior leadership.
• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing
• Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
