Senior Java Engineer

The Senior Java Engineer will be responsible for architecture by partnering with the application architect, developing new or existing architecture designs, and maintaining scalable applications utilising coding best practices. The right candidate will have worked on all levels of the tech stack, have extensive experience writing well-tested production-quality code, and is familiar with CI/CD pipelines and code release processes. Excellent spoken and written communication skills (English) are essential for this remote position.

Key Responsibilities:

• In-depth knowledge of system and architecture design fundamentals.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our growing team at Tech Holding. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain end-to-end web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing digital solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications using modern frameworks and technologies.
• Implement scalable and maintainable solutions following MVC design patterns.
• Work on both front-end and back-end development using JavaScript, Node.js, React, Ruby, Python, or similar languages.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and manage databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Build responsive and dynamic interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript Frameworks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
• At least 2+ years of experience with Node.js, React, Ruby, Python, or similar languages.
• At least 2+ years of experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Strong understanding of MVC architecture and design patterns.
• Proficient in JavaScript, CSS, HTML.
• Fluent in SQL scripting and database optimization.
• Hands-on experience with AWS/GCP/Azure Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and networking protocols.
• Experience writing Unix Shell scripts and automation tasks.
• Familiarity with source control systems (Git) and unit testing frameworks.

Cross-Time-Zone Collaboration

Ensure consistent overlap and effective communication with US teams and project meetings. Requires availability during evening hours (approximately 30 mins to 1 hour from home) based on project needs.

• API & Payment Flow Testing
  • Validate end-to-end payment workflows including authorization, capture, refund, void, and recurring billing.
  • Perform API testing for PayArc integrations using tools like Postman / REST clients.
  • Verify tokenization flows and ensure secure handling of payment data.
  • Test routing logic (new vs existing payment processors).
• Test Automation & Quality Engineering
  • Extend and maintain automated test suites for payment workflows and APIs.
  • Build API automation frameworks (using JavaScript, Java, or Python).
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.
  • Ensure strong regression coverage for all payment scenarios.
• Functional & Edge Case Validation
  • Test success, failure, and edge-case scenarios (timeouts, retries, duplicate transactions).
  • Validate idempotency and error handling mechanisms.
  • Perform exploratory and manual testing for complex workflows.
• Data Validation & Reconciliation
  • Validate transaction data across APIs and databases.
  • Ensure accuracy in audit logs, payment records, and reconciliation flows.
  • Write and execute SQL queries for backend validation.
• Performance & Reliability Testing
• • Conduct basic load and performance testing for payment APIs.
  • Validate system behaviour  under high transaction volume.
  • Monitor and report latency, failure rates, and retries.
• Production Rollout & Monitoring
  • Support production deployment validation and pilot rollout.

• 5+ years of QA experience with strong focus on API and backend testing.
• Hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, etc.).
• Good to have experience with Playwright
• Experience in test automation using JavaScript, Java, or Python.
• Strong understanding of payment systems / payment gateways (highly preferred).
• Experience with SQL and database validation.
