Position Summary:
WellPower's Vocational Trainee program provides experience to individuals who have a mental illness and who wish to learn a job or vocation. The goal of the program is to help individuals obtain work related skills and experiences that will lead to regular employment in the communities where they live.
Due to the large number of applicants, not every applicant will be selected for an interview or hired- selection is fit focused to meet program needs. If selected, each program provide 9-11 months of learning experiences meant to support preparation for competitive employment.

The posted range represents the full hiring range. Offers will not exceed this range, the majority of candidates are placed near the midpoint based on experience and qualifications.
Job Duties & Functions:
• Daily dock and warehouse organization
• Process, receive, sorting and packing incoming donations and other products
• Daily Market set up, stocking and breakdown
• Maintain necessary records of work and supplies
• Abide by best safety practices, and uphold safety standards in a warehouse setting
• Support other staff and departments as needed
• Maintain a trauma informed environment of wellbeing and understanding
• Other duties as assigned
Learning Objectives & Competencies to be Gained
1. Daily dock organization
• Maintain organization of dock including but not limited to pallet and equipment placement
• Maintain cleanliness of dock receiving area through regular sweeping, mopping, recycling break-down and trash emptying as needed
2. Maintain sense of safety for ones self and others
• Abide by all safety procedures including wearing safety shoes at all times while on duty
• Communicate needs of safety to fellow coworkers and supervisors, including blocking off PIT areas to ensure pedestrian safety
• Address safety concerns regarding others present, in and outside of the building
• Understand, abide by, and support Health Department compliance, including but not limited to; routine temperature readings, maintaining temperature and cleaning logs, and safe food handling measures.
• Communicate and alert Supervisor of any falls, injuries, slips, or messes that may need to be cleaned up.
3. Receiving goods and orders
• Assist in loading and unloading of goods- may require forklift/ WAV certification
• Assist in organization of received goods
• Assist in first expired- first out (FEFO) placement of food items in walk-in cooler, freezer, and dry storage area
4. Develop communication skills
• Look out for and communicate, needs/ concerns/ complaints to immediate supervisor
• Communicate building/ program needs by looking for areas of improvement
• Communicate tardiness and absences in a timely manner to front desk and direct supervisor
• Communicate with fellow coworkers and supervisor in a professional and mindful manner
• Communicate to fellow coworkers and immediate supervision when products run low and need to be restocked
5. Daily Market set up/ stocking and breakdown
• Understand weekly schedule for product distribution
• Assist in preparing product to be ready for next day distribution
• Push out and set up product before Daily Market opens
• Listen/ communicate and stock Daily Market as needed
• Breakdown and restock undistributed product after Daily Market
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Actively enrolled in and receiving services by WellPower.
Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier loads with assistance.
