We are looking for a Technical Solution professional for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) who owns the full commercial and technical sales cycle for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) customers in Malaysia. This role requires strong hands-on technical understanding of BESS, deep familiarity with TNB RP4 tariffs and policies, and disciplined CRM-driven pipeline management through to closed-won projects.

  • Own the entire BESS sales lifecycle: lead qualification, technical feasibility, solution design, proposal, negotiation, and closed-won handover.
  • Act as the primary interface between customers, OEMs, internal engineering, procurement, and project teams.
  • Drive deals to closure, ensuring technical compliance, commercial viability, and internal approvals are achieved.
  • Develop and propose C&I BESS solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of TNB RP4 tariff structures applicable to C&I customers.
  • Advise customers on BESS value propositions under RP4.
  • Ensure BESS proposals comply with TNB interconnection requirements, grid codes, protection, and safety standards.
  • Maintain strong familiarity with the BESS supplier landscape, including Battery OEMs , PCS vendors, EMS providers and containerized vs modular BESS solutions.
  • Lead technical and commercial alignment with suppliers during bidding.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a BESS-specific sales pipeline in the company CRM system.
  • Provide accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts based on technical and commercial readiness.
  • Use CRM data to track win rates, cycle time, and pipeline health.
  • Lead structured handover of closed-won BESS projects to project execution teams.
  • Ensure all RP4 assumptions, operating logic, and customer expectations are documented.
  • Support early execution phase to manage variations, change orders, or upsell opportunities.

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Renewable Energy, or related field.
  • 1–3+ years experience in BESS, solar + storage, power systems, or energy EPCC roles.
  • Proven experience closing technical energy projects, not just pre-sales.
  • Strong, practical understanding of:
    • C&I BESS applications
    • TNB RP4 tariffs and policies
    • Grid interconnection and protection concepts
  • Hands-on experience with CRM-based sales processes.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
