Netsimco, a Saalex Company is seeking a highly motivated System Administrator in Keyport, WA to support and maintain enterprise Microsoft Windows Server and Linux/Unix environments within a secure, mission-critical environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for system administration, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, patch management, user account administration, cybersecurity compliance, and ensuring the availability and security of enterprise IT infrastructure supporting Department of Defense operations.

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $90K-$120K (depending on experience)

Work Location: Onsite.

Essential Functions:

  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain Microsoft Windows Server and Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure reliable operation of enterprise infrastructure.
  • Perform routine maintenance, system upgrades, patch management, and vulnerability remediation activities.
  • Create, modify, and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and network-related issues.
  • Implement and maintain system security controls in compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.
  • Support backup and recovery operations to ensure business continuity and data integrity.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of Active Directory, Group Policy, virtualization platforms, and enterprise storage solutions.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and technical guides.
  • Monitor and remediate security vulnerabilities identified through audits, scans, and cybersecurity assessments.
  • Support STIG compliance efforts and system accreditation activities.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel, network engineers, and end users to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
  • Participate in after-hours maintenance activities as required.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

Requirements

Required:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience administering Microsoft Windows Server and Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification required, or other designation as an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II or higher in accordance with DoD 8570 or current DoD Cyber Workforce requirements (CISSP, CASP+, CySA+, etc.)
  • Current certification(s) meeting applicable DoD Cyber Workforce requirements.
  • Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting server operating systems in enterprise environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure and system administration functions.
  • Knowledge of:
    • System security principles
    • Patch management processes
    • Backup and recovery procedures
    • System performance monitoring and optimization
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Experience implementing security best practices and maintaining system availability.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desired:

  • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) – Windows Server 2008 (or later) Network Infrastructure Configuration, or equivalent Microsoft certification.
  • Experience with:
    • VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization technologies
    • Active Directory administration
    • Group Policy management
    • PowerShell and/or Bash scripting
    • Enterprise backup and recovery solutions
  • Experience implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
  • Experience with vulnerability remediation and cybersecurity compliance efforts within DoD environments.
  • Familiarity with RMF, ACAS, and vulnerability management processes.
  • Experience supporting classified or mission-critical systems.

Education:

HS Diploma or GED and 3 years of experience required.

Security Clearance:

Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
