About the Role:
We're looking for a Staff Full-Stack Engineer to help shape the technical direction of our marketing and customer engagement platform. In this role, you'll drive the architecture and development of data-driven, customer-facing features and backend services that power real-time personalization, campaign delivery, and transaction support. Our stack is Ruby on Rails on the backend and Vue.js on the frontend — and we value engineers who lead with strong product instincts, deep technical judgment, and a pragmatic mindset.
This is a high-impact opportunity for a senior technical leader who thrives on cross-functional influence, enjoys mentoring engineers at all levels, and wants to make a direct mark in both the MarTech and Payments spaces. We believe the best engineers today are fluent in AI — comfortable using AI-assisted development tools and thoughtful about how AI capabilities can be woven into product features and platform experiences.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Broomfield, Colorado office.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Set the technical direction for key platform initiatives — defining architecture, establishing patterns, and driving alignment across engineering teams.
- Full-Stack Development: Design and build robust, secure, and scalable systems across our Ruby on Rails and Vue.js stack, with ownership from API design and data modeling through to rich front-end experiences.
- Mentorship: Coach and level-up engineers across the team — through code reviews, design feedback, pairing, and deliberate investment in others' growth.
- Architecture & Performance: Own architectural decisions for complex systems, lead technical design reviews, and drive meaningful improvements to backend and frontend performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, Design, and Customer Success to translate business problems into sound technical solutions that deliver measurable outcomes.
- Engineering Standards: Raise the bar for code quality, testing, security, and observability across the team — not just on your own work.
- AI-Augmented Development: Leverage AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery, and help the team think critically about where AI capabilities can add genuine value to the product.
- Agile Delivery: Lead by example in an iterative, fast-paced environment — shipping frequently, adapting quickly, and helping the team do the same.
- Incident Leadership: Drive resolution of complex production incidents and contribute to post-incident reviews that prevent recurrence.

- Proven track record of owning and delivering complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives end-to-end.
- Expert-level RESTful API design, including versioning, authentication, and third-party integrations.
- Strong database fundamentals, particularly MySQL or similar relational databases, including schema design and query optimization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, influence architectural decisions, and drive alignment across engineering teams.
- Experience mentoring senior and mid-level engineers and contributing to a culture of technical excellence.

- Excellent communication skills: able to distill complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with agile development methodologies and leading delivery within cross-functional product teams.
- Demonstrated fluency with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) and the ability to evaluate where and how AI/ML capabilities can be integrated into product features.
