About this Staff Accountant role at Vasion

Vasion is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our growing team. We are a software company seeking an individual who can assist with a variety of different finance and accounting functions, and has the ability to learn from, and grow with great team members.

You need to be able to leverage knowledge about the business, utilize and continually develop your skills, and have excellent communication and attention to detail.

What you’ll do:

  • Facilitate full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice coding, approval routing, and payment processing
  • Respond to vendor inquiries about vendor invoices, payment status, and account balances
  • Review and match vendor invoices against purchase orders and receiving documentation
  • Ensure vendor contracts and payment terms are managed appropriately
  • Support the company's cash disbursement process, including check runs and ACH/wire payments
  • Utilize the company's expense management platform to process and audit corporate credit card transactions and employee expense reimbursements, ensuring proper coding, receipt documentation, and compliance with company policy
  • Manage vendor onboarding, W-9 collection, and annual 1099 preparation
  • Assist with prepaid expense tracking and monthly amortization schedules
  • Monitor AP aging reports and ensure timely payment of outstanding invoices
  • Support fixed asset additions, disposals, and depreciation schedules in coordination with the accounting team
  • Assist with expense allocation entries, ensuring costs are properly coded to the correct department, entity, and account
  • Perform variance analysis on operating expenses, investigating and explaining fluctuations month-over-month
  • Assist with the month-end close process, including reconciling AP subledger activity to the general ledger and tying out related balance sheet accounts
  • Help with audit requests as needed
  • Support various special projects and ad hoc tasks as necessary
  • Participate in other responsibilities as assigned
  • Experience with NetSuite or other ERP accounting software systems is a plus

Requirements

  • Working towards or completed a Bachelor’s degree in a business related field or have relevant work experience
  • Have effective communication and teamwork capabilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with minimal supervision
  • Non-remote position located in St. George, Utah
