TXSE is seeking a hands-on Human Resources professional to own the day-to-day administration of Human Resources, Payroll Operations, Benefits Administration, and Equity Administration. This position reports directly to the Chief Accounting Officer & Director of Human Resources and will become the operational leader of the HR function.
This is not a strategic HR executive position. It is a highly operational role for someone who enjoys building processes, improving systems, solving problems, and executing the day-to-day work. The successful candidate believes no task is beneath them and takes pride in accuracy, responsiveness, and exceptional employee service.
The role partners closely with Finance, Legal, IT, and executive leadership to build an HR function capable of supporting the Company’s continued growth.
Core HR Administration
Own the day-to-day Human Resources function.
Responsibilities include:
End-to-end onboarding and offboarding.
Coordination with IT, Finance, Payroll, and Legal.
Employee relations, coaching managers, and handling employee issues.
Employment law compliance (federal and state).
Policy development, maintenance, and enforcement.
HRIS ownership and employee data integrity.
Performance management administration.
Leave administration (FMLA, ADA, state leave programs, military leave, etc.).
Employment eligibility (I-9) administration.
Personnel records management.
HR compliance calendar management.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
Benefits Administration
Serve as the Company’s primary benefits administrator.
Responsibilities include:
Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and ancillary benefit administration.
401(k) administration and coordination.
Section 125 Cafeteria Plan administration.
Open enrollment planning and execution.
Vendor and broker relationship management.
Annual plan review and carrier negotiations.
Employee benefits education and advocacy.
Eligibility tracking.
Enrollment processing.
COBRA administration oversight.
ACA reporting coordination.
Monthly benefits invoice reconciliation.
Coordination with Accounting for premium payments.
Form 5500 review (prepared by outside advisors).
ADP/ACP nondiscrimination testing coordination.
The successful candidate should be capable of independently managing the Company’s broker relationship without requiring a separate benefits specialist.
Payroll Administration
Own payroll operations while maintaining appropriate segregation of duties with Accounting.
Responsibilities include:
Process semi-monthly payroll through ADP.
Maintain payroll master files.
Generate and review payroll pre-check reports.
Process payroll adjustments.
Administer garnishments and payroll deductions.
Maintain PTO balances.
Prepare payroll journals for Accounting.
Coordinate year-end payroll activities and W-2 processing.
Accounting retains responsibility for:
Payroll tax compliance.
Payroll tax filings.
Tax authority correspondence.
Payroll accounting.
General ledger review.
HR Operations/Compliance
Maintain a scalable, compliant HR infrastructure.
Responsibilities include:
Employment law monitoring.
Annual handbook updates.
Mandatory notices and postings.
EEO reporting.
HR audit readiness.
Employment agreement administration.
Separation documentation.
HR metrics and reporting.
HR vendor management.
Continuous process improvement.
