Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Provide day-to-day supervision to Software Developers.
- Manage the software development project portfolio and assign tasks according to priorities set by the CIO.
- Develop the skills of direct reports and provide regular feedback on performance.
- Set priorities for the development team in alignment with CIO direction.
- Lead sprint planning by collaborating with Business Analysts to review and organize incoming tickets, ensuring requirements are well-defined and appropriately scoped before development begins.
- Break down tickets into sub-tasks as needed to achieve clear separation of duties across the development team, enabling parallel workstreams and efficient sprint execution.
- Step in as a hands-on contributor when needed to support sprint completion and ensure the team meets delivery commitments.
Software Development & Architecture
- Oversee all phases of the software development lifecycle, from supporting requirements gathering through release management and deployment.
- Lead solution design and provide solution consulting to internal stakeholders.
- Lead and manage a .NET/full-stack development team, overseeing back-end and front-end development activities.
- Manage third-party software integration development as well as implementation, configuration, and ongoing support.
- Own solution health and speed, ensuring systems perform reliably and efficiently.
- Own and manage the Azure cloud infrastructure, including hosting environments, deployment pipelines, and cloud resource governance.
Quality Assurance & Support
- Serve as the final reviewer for software releases, ensuring deliverables meet stakeholder requirements and business expectations prior to deployment.
- Partner with the QA Engineer, who owns direct QA/QC execution, to ensure quality standards are consistently met across all integrations and software solutions.
- Manage the support ticket pipeline, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate communication to affected users.
- Monitor automated tasks to ensure continued reliability of scheduled processes.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Keep stakeholders informed of progress, decisions, and upcoming deliverables.
- Work with department leaders and Business Analysts to gather requirements, document solutions, and deliver software that meets business needs.
- Assist in evaluating, selecting, and implementing software solutions across the enterprise.
- Maintain public-facing documentation for software systems and processes.
Qualifications
Education:
- Minimum of a high school degree. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
- Industry-recognized certifications in software development or related disciplines are a plus.
Experience:
- Must have substantial hands-on software development experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and mentor other developers. Experience working within a company of similar size and complexity to Nox Group of Companies is preferred.
- Experience in the construction or industrial sectors is a plus.
Technical Skills: Must be proficient with the following technologies and disciplines currently in use:
- Full-stack .Net web development (front-end and back-end)
- Microsoft SQL Server — database design, health monitoring, and ad-hoc reporting
- Agile/sprint-based project management methodologies
- Microsoft Azure — cloud infrastructure management, hosting, and deployment pipelines
- Automated task monitoring and scripting
Mental:
- Requires the ability to analyze complex business requirements, engage in strategic and creative problem-solving, and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English is required, including the ability to produce clear documentation and perform well under deadline pressure.
