About the Role: As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to technical direction and help build and maintain mission-critical platform features. This role requires a mix of software development and ML Ops practices. The right candidate will bring solid experience building and shipping production services across the full data stack. Experience in the national security field is a plus. We are an AI-native engineering team. We expect every engineer to leverage LLMs and AI tooling as a core part of how they design, build, ship, and debug software as an integral, daily extension of their workflow.
Location: This role is based in the DC/Metro area; remote candidates will be considered with 20% travel expected.
Clearance Requirement: An active U.S. Government clearance is strongly preferred, but we are open to clearance eligible candidates.

Experience: You have 4-7 years of software engineering experience and are comfortable owning features end-to-end in a production environment. You think in systems, ask good questions, and thrive with autonomy.
Domain & Tech Stack: You have experience working with production data, are proficient in Python (Flask, FastAPI, or Django), and are comfortable in TypeScript/JavaScript (React, Next.js). Familiarity with AWS is a plus. Interest in government or national security environments is a strong plus.
AI-Native by Default: You use AI coding tools daily and instinctively, leverage LLMs across your development workflow, and have a clear-eyed view of when to trust AI-generated output and when to verify.
Mission-Driven: You are excited by how AI enables better solutions to hard, long-standing problems like data sharing, and you want to see that work deployed in environments where it matters.
Bonus Points:
Familiarity with vector stores or embedding-based systems.
Infrastructure experience (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP).
Exposure to encryption, authentication, DevOps, or SRE practices.
Any production experience with agentic services leveraging LLMs, embeddings, or inference.
