About this Showroom Sales Manager role at UMI Stone/Opustone
OVERVIEW
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the daily sales operations of the showroom while driving revenue growth, delivering an exceptional customer experience, and developing a high-performing sales team. This role oversees showroom sales activities, coaches and mentors sales associates, ensures operational excellence, and partners with leadership to achieve sales goals and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day sales operations of the showroom and ensure a best-in-class customer experience.
- Coach, mentor, and develop showroom sales associates to achieve individual and team sales goals.
- Monitor sales performance, open orders, quotes, and customer follow-up to maximize conversion and revenue.
- Train and onboard new sales team members on products, sales techniques, company processes, and customer service standards.
- Establish sales priorities and ensure consistent execution of company policies and procedures.
- Approve pricing, discounts, and promotions within established guidelines.
- Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues as appropriate to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Partner with the Regional Sales Manager to develop sales strategies, forecast sales performance, and identify growth opportunities.
- Maintain showroom presentation standards and ensure the showroom is clean, organized, and fully merchandised.
- Coordinate with operations, warehouse, shipping, and customer service teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Build and maintain relationships with designers, builders, fabricators, contractors, and other key customers.
- Represent the company at networking events, industry functions, and customer meetings as needed.
- Manage scheduling, staffing, performance coaching, and ongoing development of showroom employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of sales leadership experience, preferably within the stone, tile, flooring, building materials, or home design industry.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
- Excellent customer relationship management and conflict resolution abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally as needed.
