About Re:Build Manufacturing

Re:Build Manufacturing is a growing family of industrial and engineering businesses combining enabling technologies, operational superiority, and strategic M&A to build America’s next generation industrial company. At Re:Build we deploy deep expertise in engineering, operations management, and technology to supercharge the performance of our member companies. We leverage deep professional expertise and a candid, principled operating culture to drive differentiated outcomes. Ours is a fast-paced environment where individuals can stretch and be challenged to pursue their fullest potential.

Re:Build was founded to pioneer a profitable model for the revitalization of US manufacturing. We’ve assembled a powerful set of complimentary capabilities and lines of business that enable us to pursue a wide range of end markets. Our acquired businesses are grounded in build-to-print and by-the-hour engineering and design services, and we’re leveraging their combined expertise to migrate to increasingly sophisticated program development and production, as well as the generation of our own products. Our unique set of capabilities lend themselves to highly complex systems and products, and we offer customers a range of services including product and systems design, automation, fabrication, assembly, and large volume contract manufacturing. Our customers span a wide array of industries including aerospace, defense, mobility, healthcare, pharma, biotech, clean tech, chemicals, energy, lifestyle, food production, and industrial equipment.

Who we are looking for

Our team is looking for a product-focused full-stack engineer to join a team building artificially intelligent power-user applications in the CAD/CAM space.   You will work with the entire stack. This includes crafting intuitive user experiences and building robust backend services. You will see how your work impacts real users.

This is not your typical full-stack role. Our team regularly dives into technically deep work: platform engineering, MLOps, systems-level challenges, and performance-critical code. We are looking for engineers who are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and tackle complex problems outside the usual web development comfort zone.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter who is passionate about software engineering, knows how to navigate the modern TypeScript ecosystem, and thrives when facing technically demanding problems. You are independent, take ownership, and light up when facing a hard problem rather than shying away from it. You know your stuff but are not afraid to admit knowledge gaps and welcome constructive criticism. You’ve worked in a startup environment and love shipping right-sized code lighting fast. The ideal candidate has deployed new technology coming from an R&D team to a production product before.

We are the kind of team that gets excited about stepping outside our comfort zones – picking up a new technology, diving into an unfamiliar domain, or tackling a gnarly technical challenge. At ReCAM, we are building new, automation-first computer-aided manufacturing applications. It is early stage, so we ship fast and adapt as we learn from user testing, while striving for the technical excellence that enables rapid development. If you enjoy building new and cool software, you will fit right in.

Export Control Requirement:  Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

What you get to do

  • Work across the full stack – from intuitive user experiences to robust backend services – and see how your work impacts real users.
  • Dive into technically deep work: platform engineering, MLOps, systems-level challenges, and performance-critical code.
  • Take ownership of major product areas and drive features end-to-end.
  • Set and elevate code standards and team-wide practices that improve product quality and engineering culture.
  • Engage in thoughtful peer review and technical reasoning to establish shared software engineering standards.
  • Grow into a domain expert and spearhead broader technical initiatives the team needs.
  • Ship fast in an early-stage environment, adapting quickly as you learn from user testing.

What you bring to the team

The essentials

  • A Bachelor’s in CS and 5+ years in industry, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and familiarity with common runtimes and build tools.
  • One or more viable takes on how to build full-stack TypeScript projects, services, and SDKs that scale well for a team.
  • Familiarity with a modern frontend framework such as React (preferred), Vue, Svelte, or Angular, and demonstrable expertise with at least one.
  • Proficiency writing, deploying, and maintaining backend APIs in strongly typed languages such as TypeScript (preferred), Python, Go, C#, or equivalent.
  • Experience designing APIs across paradigms (REST, RPC, GraphQL) and a sense for what good API design looks like in one or more of them.
  • Strong CS fundamentals: networking, common web technologies, distributed systems, plus OOP, functional programming, and software architecture concepts.
  • Deep experience with at least one relational and one non-relational database, and a keen grasp of NoSQL vs. relational data modeling.
  • Familiarity with AWS or equivalent providers like Azure or GCP, and proven experience evaluating and choosing infrastructure and services to meet your team’s and product’s needs.
  • Understanding of DevOps/SRE principles: continuous delivery, CI/CD pipelines, deployment environments, IaC (Terraform preferred), telemetry, observability, and managing system resources effectively.
  • Proper working knowledge of git and docker/containers.

Nice to have

  • Experience with three.js and 3D rendering in the browser.
  • Experience working with LLMs and building agentic systems.
  • Python 3 proficiency and prior experience with data engineering or Machine Learning Operations.
  • Experience with tanstack query, router, and start, shadcn-ui, tailwind, hono, tRPC, and similar tools.
  • Prior start-up, early-stage, or greenfield experience.
  • Personal projects or a portfolio you would love to share and talk about.
  • Bonus points for familiarity with C++/CMake, CUDA, CAD, CAM, or graphics APIs.
