SeatGeek believes live events are powerful experiences that unite humans. With our technological savvy and fan-first attitude we’re simplifying and modernizing the ticketing industry.

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join SeatGeek’s Cloud Platform team. As a Platform Engineer, you'll improve the systems that power the entirety of SeatGeek's technology ecosystem. This unique role combines both the craftsmanship and rigor of traditional Software Engineering, whilst also incorporating an openness to the development of the underlying infrastructure; including core compute, infrastructure as code, database, and network infrastructure.

The nature of the ticketing engineering industry places unique constraints and workflows on our systems and infrastructure, especially during high-load onsales, requiring out of the box solutions and automation to be the norm. This team is the backbone to our Enterprise and Consumer lines of business as we grow our primary and secondary ticketing platforms that support world-class clients such as the Dallas Cowboys, and Manchester City FC.

What you'll do

  • Become a force multiplier by mentoring and leading the team around you
  • Participate in an on-call schedule to help our customers experience more live

What you have

  • Passion for craftsmanship and product. You have well-considered opinions about how software and reliable infrastructure should work, and hold yourself and your code to a high standard
  • Experience building business critical software in a fast-paced environment. We'll be interested in hearing about what you've built and how
  • Experience solving complex technical challenges. SeatGeek engineers create custom solutions to unique ticketing problems, including high traffic onsales, interactive venue maps, inventory tracking, and event matching. We'll be excited to hear about challenging problems you've solved
  • Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and serverless compute platforms
  • Experience with continuous integration, delivery, testing, and code deployment
  • Experience using observability tools to make performance improvements and forecast growth
  • Experience improving system architecture, diagnosing shortcomings and implementing evidence-based recommendations
