About this Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Monitoring Service role at Crusoe
Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.
We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.
We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.
If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and own customer-facing observability products within Crusoe Cloud's Cloud Monitoring Service. This team delivers the managed logs experience and self-service observability capabilities that let customers collect, search, and act on their telemetry without filing a ticket or waiting on us. You will own product surfaces end to end, from the APIs and backend services through the onboarding and configuration experience, with a strong focus on reliability and ease of use. This is a full-time position.
What You'll Be Working On:
Owning Customer-Facing Services: Design, build, and operate the services behind our managed logs product, including ingestion endpoints, query APIs, retention and access controls, and the workflows customers use to onboard and configure them.
Self-Service Experience: Turn workflows that today require manual steps or internal involvement into clean, low-touch product experiences. Build the APIs, defaults, and guardrails that let customers get to value quickly and safely on their own.
Scalable Design: Design services that are highly scalable, durable, and reliable while staying simple to use. Reason about multi-tenancy, quota and limits, cost visibility, and predictable behavior under heavy customer load.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, cloud support, and site reliability teams to understand where customers get stuck, and turn that feedback into roadmap items and shipped improvements.
Operational Excellence: Participate in a customer-facing on-call rotation. Improve alerting quality, runbooks, and automation so the product gets easier to operate as it grows, not harder.
Innovation: Implement features that differentiate Crusoe Cloud's observability offering, focusing on low-touch adoption, sensible defaults, and turn-key integration with the AI workloads our customers run.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
Cloud Expertise: Proven ability to design and scale fault-tolerant distributed systems and build managed cloud services that customers rely on directly.
Observability Familiarity: Experience with observability data and technologies, such as log aggregation, time-series databases, or distributed tracing. Familiarity with tools like Loki, VictoriaMetrics, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or similar is a plus.
Product Ownership: Experience owning a customer-facing service or product surface end to end, including API design, rollout, and iterating based on customer feedback.
Customer-Centric Mindset: A genuine interest in how customers experience your work. You notice friction, you care about defaults and error messages, and you measure success by what customers can do without help.
Technical Proficiency: Strong fundamentals in microservices and infrastructure technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD systems.
Collaboration Skills: Ability to work with cross-functional teams to align priorities and deliver customer-first solutions.
Communication Skills: Clear ability to articulate technical ideas and connect design decisions to customer needs.
Mentorship: Willingness to mentor earlier-career engineers and contribute to a strong, inclusive engineering culture.
Professional Experience: 5+ years of software development experience, including programming with modern compiled languages such as Go, Rust, Java, or C++.
