About this Senior Product Manager role at SageSure
Overview:
If you're looking for the stability of a profitable, growing company with the entrepreneurial spirit of a startup, we’re hiring. SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Senior Software Product Manager. In this role, you'll help drive the performance, scalability, and evolution of our Commercial business by serving as a key partner between operations and technology. You'll work across Commercial, Product, Engineering, Data, and Operations teams to identify opportunities, solve complex business challenges, and deliver solutions that improve operational outcomes and customer experiences. This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to influence strategy, optimize critical business processes, and support one of SageSure's fastest-growing areas. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable analyzing operational performance, translating business needs into technical requirements, and collaborating across functions to turn ideas into execution.
What you’d be doing:
- Monitor and analyze the performance of Commercial operational functions, including inspections, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and other post-bind transactions.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, scalability, and business outcomes through process improvements and technology-enabled solutions.
- Partner closely with Commercial business leaders, Product Management, Engineering, Data, and Operations teams to define and execute strategic initiatives.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements, including user stories, process flows, and acceptance criteria for development teams.
- Serve as the liaison between business and technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities, requirements, and expected outcomes.
- Drive execution through partnership with software engineering and technical teams responsible for delivering Commercial capabilities and operational enhancements.
- Support operational oversight of third-party vendors and technology solutions critical to Commercial operations, including data providers, inspection vendors, geocoding solutions, insurance scoring services, and replacement cost estimation tools.
- Analyze operational data, trends, and stakeholder feedback to identify risks, opportunities, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Facilitate cross-functional discussions, working sessions, and presentations with stakeholders across multiple functions and levels of the organization.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships through both virtual and in-person collaboration, including participation in team meetings, office visits, and company events as needed.
- Proactively engage with team members, partners, peers, and stakeholders to drive alignment, improve communication, and achieve business objectives.
- Build trusted partnerships across Commercial, Product, Engineering, Data, and Operations teams through a combination of virtual collaboration, office visits, and in-person working sessions to drive execution and business outcomes.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- 5+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, program management, operations, consulting, or a related discipline.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions and partnering with software engineering teams to deliver business outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret operational data and identify actionable insights.
- Experience managing cross-functional initiatives involving business, technology, and operational stakeholders.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize competing demands, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with technical, operational, and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and build strong stakeholder relationships across functions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a distributed environment while leveraging both virtual and in-person collaboration to drive outcomes.
- Willingness and ability to travel periodically (approximately 10–15%) for team meetings, stakeholder engagement, office visits, planning sessions, and company events.
Highly preferred candidates also have:
- Experience within the property and casualty insurance industry, particularly Commercial Lines operations, underwriting, policy administration, or inspections.
- Experience working with operational workflows involving renewals, endorsements, cancellations, inspections, or other policy servicing activities.
- Experience partnering with software engineering teams and translating business needs into technical requirements, user stories, or process improvements.
- Experience managing or supporting third-party vendors, data providers, or technology partners in a regulated or operations-focused environment.
- Experience leading operational transformation, process optimization, or technology-enabled business improvement initiatives.
