Skeleton's Information Technology department is looking for experienced

Senior MES Engineer (m/f/x)

with the vision to match our ambition!

Skeleton is scaling production of its ultracapacitors and SuperBattery cells in Leipzig. As Senior MES Engineer you develop, customise and operate our MOM platform on Siemens Opcenter MES and WinCC OA SCADA. You take end-to-end ownership of your initiatives, from requirements to stable hand-over, and work closely with the Automation, ERP and Production engineering teams and our Senior Solution Architect.


Your tasks in the net zero journey:

  • Develop, customise and configure Siemens Opcenter MES against production and quality requirements.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of your initiatives: requirements, design, build, test, go-live, hypercare.
  • Engineer and maintain WinCC OA SCADA applications. Connect machines and lines via OPC UA together with the Automation team during ramp-ups and commissioning.
  • Build and operate interfaces with Epicor ERP and adjacent systems (historian, quality, logistics).
  • Run stable operations of the MOM platform (monitoring, backups, patching, releases).
  • Provide 2nd/3rd level support to shift teams.
  • Root-cause analysis and lasting fixes.
  • Develop and operate our in-house Report runner reporting platform.

Requirements

  • Degree or technical qualification in automation, electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics, or similar.
  • 3+ years of MES experience in manufacturing environments (e.g. Siemens Opcenter, Wonderware, FactoryTalk, Apriso, GE Proficy, Werum, or similar).
  • Experience with SCADA systems, PLC–SCADA–MES integration, OPC UA, and relational databases (MS SQL preferred).
  • Strong software development and MES customisation skills using .NET/C# or scripting.
  • Experience supporting production-critical systems in industrial environments.
  • Fluent English; German is a plus.
  • Willingness for on-call support and occasional out-of-hours work.
    • Nice-to-have qualifications:
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens Opcenter MES and WinCC OA.
  • Experience with MES/ERP integrations, reporting platforms, and Microsoft technologies.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Edge, Docker/Kubernetes, OT cybersecurity, and high-availability systems.
  • Experience in battery, semiconductor, automotive, or regulated manufacturing industries.
