We are looking for a Software Engineer (Go) to join our Platform team. Our platform is a large-scale system combining a Ruby on Rails monolith with a growing ecosystem of Go microservices. In this role, you will build and maintain business logic and enterprise-grade features for the Workato platform, including on-premise features, authentication, caching, work queuing, and APIs.
You will also be expected to:
• Design, build, and maintain Go microservices with a focus on correctness and reliability.
• Implement business logic and enterprise-quality standards across the platform.
• Collaborate with Infra and SRE teams to ensure high availability and scalability requirements are met.
• Contribute across all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
• Evaluate and propose improvements to existing systems.
Required
• 5+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
• Solid experience with Go on the backend (2+ years).
• Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of core building blocks of web applications: databases, load balancers, application servers, message brokers, caching, monitoring, etc..
• Experience working with distributed systems.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices.
Nice to Have
• Experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Experience building B2B systems.
• Experience in related fields (DevOps, ML, DBA, Enterprise applications, etc.).
• Experience with third-party REST APIs at scale (request throttling, batch processing, etc.).
• Contributions to open-source projects.
Soft Skills / Personal Characteristics
• Readiness to work with teams distributed across multiple timezones.
• Strong spoken and written English.
• Curiosity and openness toward new technologies; willingness to experiment.
• Ownership mindset — comfortable taking features from design through to production and maintenance.
