We are seeking a Senior Director, Dedicated Tenant Site Reliability Engineering to lead a critical part of our Cloud Services organization. In this role, you will lead a multi-team organization responsible for the delivery and operation of Ping’s Dedicated Tenant services across PingOne Advanced Identity Cloud (AIC) and PingOne Advanced Services (AS). You will define and drive complex initiatives across engineering and adjacent organizations, improve how Dedicated Tenants are delivered and operated for customers, and create clearer growth paths for the teams. You Will:
- Lead a Dedicated Tenant Site Reliability Engineering organization spanning multiple teams and layers of leadership, with accountability for service delivery, operational excellence, and execution across complex initiatives.
- Define and drive complex cross-functional programs with internal and external stakeholders, coordinating work across engineering and adjacent organizations to deliver business and customer outcomes.
- Build, structure, and grow the organization to meet company objectives, including staffing plans, onboarding approaches, talent development, leadership coaching, and culture creation across multiple teams and organizational levels.
- Set direction for how Dedicated Tenant services are delivered and operated, improving consistency, speed of decision making, and alignment across services and teams.
- Establish and use organizational metrics to understand performance, identify trends, make trade-offs, and continuously improve reliability, productivity, and delivery outcomes.
- Oversee the operational capabilities required to run large-scale production services, including infrastructure automation, observability, capacity planning, incident management, and analysis of complex system behavior and performance issues.
- Partner closely with SRE, Security, Development, and other company functions to proactively manage dependencies, communicate release and operational activities, and improve the effectiveness of how services are delivered.
- Drive the evolution of software delivery and operational strategies for your area, ensuring teams execute with strong release, deployment, and operations discipline that aligns with business objectives and organizational structure.
You Have:
- Significant experience leading a software-focused Site Reliability Engineering, cloud operations, or comparable engineering organization through multiple leaders and teams in a global environment.
- Demonstrated success defining and executing complex initiatives with external stakeholders and coordinating programs across engineering and adjacent organizations.
- Deep expertise in software delivery and operational strategy, including release, deployment, operations, dependency management, and organizational execution across multiple projects in parallel.
- Strong experience operating high-volume or business-critical production services with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, observability, and automation.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and administering modern infrastructure tooling with a strong emphasis on infrastructure as code and public cloud provisioning.
- Experience with cloud-native and platform technologies such as Kubernetes, Git-based workflows, and modern observability and automation tooling.
- Strong understanding of security design principles and the operational realities of infrastructure, networking, and failure modes in distributed systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational leadership, and talent development skills, with the ability to mentor managers and directors while building a strong and effective culture.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience leading services or platforms that support customer-specific operational models, high-touch service delivery, or tightly coordinated cross-team execution.
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools.
- Familiarity with observability tooling.
- Familiarity with DevOps automation and platform tooling.
Salary Range: $170,100 - $243,000 + variable bonus
In accordance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) the approximate compensation range for this role in Colorado is listed above. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors, such as knowledge, skills, and abilities.
