About this Senior Associate, Product Compliance and Certifications role at PRISM+
We are seeking a meticulous and driven Senior Associate, Product Compliance and Certifications who will be responsible for securing and maintaining all regulatory approvals required to bring PRISM+ products to market in Malaysia. Being a high growth electronics company, we are looking for a candidate who is a proactive, detail-oriented self-starter who can own the end-to-end compliance and certification process across our expanding product line-up.
This individual will be the primary point of contact with SIRIM and other relevant regulatory bodies, ensuring that every product meets the necessary safety, quality, and certification standards before launch. The role requires close coordination with our factories, product teams, and external testing laboratories to plan submissions, resolve technical documentation gaps, and keep certifications current. The candidate will be considered a key member of the PRISM+ Malaysia product team.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Manage the full product certification lifecycle with SIRIM QAS International, from initial application and test sample submission to certificate issuance and renewal.
- Liaise with SIRIM and other Malaysian regulatory authorities (e.g. Suruhanjaya Tenaga / Energy Commission, MCMC) to obtain all required product approvals and type certifications.
- Interpret Malaysian Standards (MS), IEC standards and regulatory requirements, providing technical guidance to internal stakeholders where required.
- Coordinate with factories and overseas product teams to gather and prepare the technical documentation, test reports, and product samples needed for each submission.
- Evaluate engineering changes, supplier changes and component revisions to determine certification impact and coordinate re-certification where necessary.
- Track certification status, expiry dates, and renewal timelines across the entire product portfolio, and proactively flag risks that could delay product launches.
- Work with testing laboratories to schedule product testing, resolve non-conformities, and ensure products meet all applicable safety and quality standards.
- Maintain organised, audit-ready records of all certificates, test reports, and compliance documentation.
- Stay up to date with changes in Malaysian regulatory requirements and standards, and advise internal teams on their impact to the product roadmap.
- Ensure senior management are kept informed with regular reports and updates on the progress and status of product certifications.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Quality Management, or any relevant course of studies.
- At least 2-3 years' experience in product compliance, certification, or regulatory affairs, preferably within the electronics or consumer products industry.
- Hands-on experience managing product compliance and certification processes with SIRIM (>2 years of experience).
- Working knowledge of Malaysian regulatory frameworks for electrical and electronic products (e.g. Energy Commission, MCMC certification requirements).
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the persistence to see certifications through to completion.
- Thrives in dynamic, uncertain, and fast-moving environments; able to manage multiple submissions and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to coordinate effectively with regulators, laboratories, factories, and internal teams.
- Strong documentation, record-keeping, and project coordination skills, with high attention to detail.
