About the client

Our client operates in the space technology sector, working on satellite systems and mission-critical engineering projects that require advanced expertise in spacecraft control, simulation, and verification.

Role Overview

We are looking for a senior AOCS/GNC Engineer to support satellite projects across the full lifecycle, from early studies and proposals through design, development, verification, and customer acceptance. The role focuses on Attitude and Orbit Control Systems, Guidance, Navigation and Control, algorithm development, software verification, simulation campaigns, and technical documentation.

This position is suited for an experienced space engineer with strong knowledge of estimation and control theory, hands-on experience with Matlab/Simulink, and a background in AOCS/GNC subsystems and software.

CONTRACT: Contractor Agreement

COMMITMENT: Full-time (multi-year)

LOCATIONS: ONSITE Friedrichshafen, Germany; Relocation support

NOTES: EU passport needed; English fluency is required; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop AOCS/GNC subsystems for satellite missions
  • Develop and verify AOCS/GNC algorithms and related software
  • Perform AOCS/GNC analysis and simulation campaigns
  • Build and maintain analysis and simulation tools
  • Support satellite projects from early phases through customer acceptance
  • Contribute to satellite proposals and system studies for AOCS/GNC topics
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and design justifications
  • Collaborate with international engineering teams across satellite projects

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in the space industry
  • Hands-on experience with AOCS/GNC subsystems and software
  • Strong knowledge of estimation and control theory
  • Good knowledge of Matlab/Simulink or comparable toolsuites
  • Experience with AOCS/GNC analysis, simulation, verification, or algorithm development
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Ability to work on-site or in close collaboration with teams in Friedrichshafen
