The Safety & HAZMAT Coordinator supports the safety planning of the site by identifying hazards and ensuring that emergency procedures are followed and in place. This position is in charge of all HAZMAT handling and training verifications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supports all safety planning and compliance
- In charge of hazard identification
- Oversees and enforces PPE protocol, fall protection, hot work coordination and emergency procedures
- CHAZMAT handling, HAZMIN and training verification and tracking
- Risk reduction across maintenance, repairs, fabrication and AIT tasks
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and mission focus across the team
- Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications
Education:
- High School Degree Required
- Associate's Degree Required with preferred studies in occupational safety, environmental, industrial hygiene, maintenance or other related field
Licenses & Certifications:
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- OSHA Safety
- HAZMIT/HAZMIN
- Fall protection/respiratory protection
- CPR preferred
Experience:
- Five (5) or more years in a similar position
- Strong background in other safety positions that follow OSHA
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level problem-solving and communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Project management principles and practices
- Ability to work with various levels of personnel including senior leadership
- Use of Microsoft Office software applications to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
