Banana Moon Day Nursery Barnstaple is seeking a motivated and experienced Room Leader to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing a nursery room, ensuring the delivery of high-quality childcare and education.

As a Room Leader, you will create a nurturing, safe, and stimulating environment that encourages children’s development and learning. You will plan the curriculum, support and mentor your team, and foster positive relationships with parents and carers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the daily running of your nursery room, ensuring compliance with EYFS and company policies.
• Plan and implement educational activities to support children’s learning and development.
• Support, supervise, and mentor nursery practitioners and assistants.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff.
• Engage effectively with parents and carers to share children’s progress and wellbeing.
• Contribute to nursery improvement plans and inspections.

Requirements

• Minimum ‘Full and Relevant’ Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education, Nursery Nursing, or related field.
• Proven experience in a Room Leader or senior nursery role.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding legislation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Passion for early years education and commitment to children’s development.
• Ability to work flexibly, including some early mornings or evenings, if required.
