Position Summary:
The Rigging and Equipment Operator is responsible for safely moving, lifting, loading, unloading, and transporting fabricated equipment throughout the manufacturing facility and yard. This role requires expertise in rigging practices, crane operations, forklift operation, load calculations, and equipment transportation to support production and shipping activities. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy lifting operations, trailer loading, commercial vehicle operation, and industrial material movement.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Move equipment and fabricated units throughout the shop and yard.
- Secure and bind units to trailers for transportation within the facility and yard.
- Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment to position units for fabrication, staging, and shipment.
- Calculate, determine, and verify load weights prior to lifting activities. [
- Select appropriate rigging equipment and safely rig loads for lifting and transportation.
- Perform heavy lifting operations involving loads ranging from approximately 100 pounds to 200,000 pounds using approved lifting equipment and procedures.
- Coordinate with forklift operators, crane operators, fabrication personnel, and logistics teams during loading and unloading activities.
- Operate semi-trucks, trailers, forklifts, and cranes in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maneuver trucks and trailers in restricted spaces within the shop and yard.
- Conduct pre-use inspections on equipment and report maintenance concerns.
- Follow all company, OSHA, and safety requirements related to lifting, rigging, transportation, and material handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
What will put you ahead:
- NCCCO Crane Certification.
- Forklift certification.
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
- Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, heavy industrial, or oil & gas environments.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift, push, pull, and move heavy materials.
- Ability to work around large industrial equipment and suspended loads.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to wear required PPE and work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.
