Hydraquip is looking for a receptionist in our Houston office. The Receptionist is responsible for receiving and routing calls and for taking messages. He/she also shares general information with clients and employees as necessary.

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Answer telephone and route calls promptly, without leaving callers on hold for longer than 20 seconds.
  • Greet visitors and notify those being visited.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail.
  • Receive and distribute phone and email messages.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of any difficulties or dissatisfaction with office equipment and systems.
  • Handle incoming office supply deliveries.
  • Notify appropriate personnel immediately of incoming deliveries or presence of repair or maintenance personnel.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of the occurrence and nature of any communication concerning problems with the heating or air conditioning or other building systems.
  • Remain at reception area at all times when guests are expected, or go to reception area immediately upon notification that guests are expected.
  • Assist in the preparation of any outgoing mail or packages.
  • Assist with various projects as needed.
  • Keep reception area straight and neat.
  • Carry out all duties and responsibilities in an ethical and conscientious manner.
  • Support and participate in the organization’s continual improvement program and conform to ISO 9001 requirements by complying with the Quality Policy and procedures and meeting Quality Management System objectives. Understand the implications of not conforming with the Quality Management System requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent secondary education.

EXPERIENCE

  • Over two (2) years of administrative experience.
  • Experience in an ISO environment is considered a plus.
  • Education as described above may be accepted in lieu of experience.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Bilingualism in English and Spanish is considered a plus.
  • Accurate typing skills.
  • Legible handwriting.
  • Must have courteous and efficient telephone manners and be able to route calls promptly.
  • Must be pleasant, cooperative, and professionally dressed.
  • Must arrive regularly and on time.
  • Must be able to forward messages promptly and responsibly.
  • Must follow through on all work assignments.

PHYSICAL AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Able to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
  • Able to continually pass a drug test.
  • Exposure to a production environment.
  • Reasonable accommodations are made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
