How you’ll make an impact: 

At Strata, we power the mission-critical industries that shape our society, including Healthcare, Financial Institutions, and Higher Education. As a QA Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software solutions. You will develop deep expertise in Strata’s products and the technologies that support them while collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, and Consulting teams to deliver solutions that meet customer needs and uphold our high standards of quality. Success in this role requires a passion for quality assurance, strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment. 

  • Create and update test cases and test scenarios due to changes in product functionality.
  • Identify, document, and track defects found during testing. 
  • Perform thorough regression testing when defects are fixed.
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated tests where applicable, including the use of AI-assisted tools to improve test coverage and maintainability.
  • Stay up to date on the latest processes and IT advancements to automate and modernize our systems.
  • Work in a scrum team following an agile software development process.  
  • Work effectively with cross-functional, distributed teams.
  • Evaluate product development and quality assurance processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions that will have the greatest impact.
  • Develop comprehensive end-to-end test cases at the application level.
  • Work closely with product management to provide UI/UX feedback and share ideas for future product features and enhancements.

What we’re looking for: 

  • 1-2 years of professional experience in software quality assurance. 
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills 
  • Strong experience with QA methodology 
  • Experience with or interest in using AI-assisted tools to improve software testing and test automation 
  • Experience with one of the leading test automation tools and frameworks 
  • Experience with at least one object-oriented programming language 
  • Professional background in SQL and relational database concepts. 
  • Knowledge and experience working with Agile development methodology 
  • Understand entire software development life cycle from requirements gathering to delivery 
  • Strong self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively with limited guidance when necessary 
  • A drive to learn quickly and constantly adapt to new challenges 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong interest in Financial Institutions industry and financial performance management, with a passion for making a difference in industry and society.

Estimated Salary Range: $68,000 - $80,000

Actual salary will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skill set and level of experience. This salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Strata also provides discretionary variable pay programs based on role. In addition, Strata provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits, health and welfare benefits, paid time off, parental leave, life and accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits.

About Strata Decision Technology

How we work:

Our preferred location for open roles is Chicago, IL. We value in‑person connection and regularly host on‑campus events to create meaningful opportunities for our team to build relationships and collaborate.

 

We follow a hybrid schedule designed with flexibility in mind. Team members can choose the days Monday through Friday that work best for them each week, with the expectation of being on campus at least two days per week.

  • The initial recruiter screenings are conducted via Zoom. We kindly ask that you keep your camera on for the duration of each interview and disable any AI tools.   • Our interview process includes a visit to our office (or what we call our Campus). The timing and format may vary by team, but this usually occurs toward the later stages.  If you have questions about this step, your recruiter will be happy to walk you through it.  
  • Should you accept a position at Strata, please note that your first two days will include in-person orientation at our Chicago Campus. Whether you’re local or traveling in, be sure to bring your approved I-9 documentation.  We verify employment eligibility on-site on Day One.
