About the role:

The primary purpose of the Construction Project Engineer role is to oversee and support the management of large-scale projects from concept design to delivery and finalisation, with a strong focus on financial and data reporting. This includes ensuring projects are financially viable, well-organised, and executed efficiently.

Key responsibilities include maintaining clear communication across departments to align project objectives and outcomes.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and support all aspects of the projects financial and data reporting, including progress updates, forecasting, budget control, procurement, and adherence to company systems and procedures.
  • Prepare and update weekly/monthly project reports for stakeholders, maintain project documentation in systems like Aconex and SharePoint, and support contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate activities across all project phases, from early works to handover, facilitate contractor access, and ensure alignment with project schedules and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in preparing procurement documentation, validate contractor claims, oversee expenditure approvals, and prepare payment certificates for services and trade contracts.
  • Establish strong working relationships with stakeholders, facilitate project meetings, and follow up on actions to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Conduct project health-checks, adhere to confidentiality and safety policies, and oversee the resolution of defects and omissions to meet project standards.

 

About you:

This role would be suitable for candidates who have experience in project support/coordination within large scale construction projects.

 

  • Ability to manage key stakeholder requirements, with effective communication skills and proficiency in platforms such as ACONEX.
  • Proven experience in creating, presenting and providing insights on project-based data and financial reporting.
  • Proven understanding of building methods, materials, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Experience in interpreting architectural drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.

Qualifications

  • Strong level of proficiency with Excel and Project Tools
  • Tertiary qualifications within Construction or Project Management are preferred, but not essential.
  • Ability to use PowerBi would be highly regarded, but not essential.
