The opportunity

This role sits at the center of how Magic Leap's People Team is reinventing itself, replacing manual workflows with automated, scalable solutions and building the infrastructure that lets the team operate leaner and think bigger.

We’re looking for a People Team Program Manager to join our People function at Magic Leap. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role supporting the systems, programs, and communications that shape the employee experience across the company. You’ll provide direct support to our Senior HR Manager and work closely with People Team partners to plan, execute, and continuously improve core HR programs, transitioning manual processes toward scalable, productized solutions while also owning initiatives in learning, internal communications, and engagement.

This role is ideal for someone who’s equally comfortable building a project plan and facilitating new hire orientation or other forward-facing initiatives with the operational discipline to manage multiple work streams and the people instincts to make every touchpoint feel intentional.

*This position is a temporary, six-month role providing coverage for an employee on a leave of absence (LOA)*

What You’ll Do

Program Management

  • Own end-to-end coordination of cyclical and strategic People Team programs, including talent reviews, merit cycles, engagement surveys, post-program retrospectives, and overall employee lifecycle management, executing them with precision while contributing to their transition toward scalable, automated delivery
  • Build and maintain project plan documentation, timelines, and tracking tools that keep cross-functional initiatives on schedule and visible to the right stakeholders
  • Identify process gaps and lead efforts to streamline how the People Team plans and delivers its work, partnering with the HR Analyst and TSS where system or automation solutions are needed
  • Support change management efforts by ensuring program rollouts are communicated clearly, on time, and in a way that lands well with employees and managers alike
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to spearhead HR projects with multidisciplinary teams, aiming to boost operational efficiency and bolster employee morale

Employee Experience and Communication

  • Design and deliver communications that translate complex HR processes into clear, accessible, employee-friendly language across multiple channels
  • Manage learning and development initiatives, including our compliance training platform and any vendor relationships that support the broader program
  • Own the new hire orientation program end-to-end, continuously refining the experience as the company evolves
  • Plan and execute employee events in collaboration with cross-functional partners, ensuring consistent quality and seamless logistics
  • Serve as the People Team point of contact for Magic Leap's Community Resource Groups, providing operational support, guidance, and coordination

The experience you bring

Don’t check all of these items? We still invite you to apply!

  • 3-5  years of experience in an HR, Communications/Public Speaking, or Project/ Program Management-related role
  • Demonstrated end-to-end program management capability, including project planning, cross-functional coordination, and stakeholder communication
  • Hands-on familiarity with HRIS platforms (Bob, or similar) and experience with performance management tools like Culture Amp is a plus; however, comfort learning and working across HR technology is expected
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to translate complex or technical HR content into clear, employee-facing language
  • Experience executing cyclical HR programs such as performance reviews, compensation cycles, and engagement surveys from planning through completion
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without losing sight of priorities or letting details slip.
  • Low-ego, highly collaborative mindset with an internal drive to engage across all tiers and departments, recognizing that impactful work requires every voice.

It's exiting if you also have

  • Experience supporting or leading employee resource or community groups
  • Exposure to L&D program coordination or vendor management
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Notion, Smartsheet)
  • Familiarity with procurement tools like Ariba
  • Background in technology or hardware company environments
