About the Role 

As a Product Owner at ValPay, you will play a key role in defining, prioritizing, and delivering high-impact product initiatives across our payments ecosystem. You’ll work at the intersection of product, engineering, and business teams to ensure we are building scalable, reliable, and user-centric solutions. 

This is a highly collaborative role where you’ll translate business needs into clear product requirements, drive execution, and ensure alignment across stakeholders. 

What You’ll Do 

Product Ownership & Strategy 

• Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring clear prioritization aligned with business goals 

• Define and communicate product vision, roadmap, and feature requirements 

• Translate complex business needs into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria 

Execution & Delivery 

• Partner closely with engineering teams to deliver high-quality product releases 

• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives 

• Ensure timely delivery while maintaining a strong focus on quality and user experience 

Stakeholder Collaboration 

• Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, operations, and leadership teams 

• Gather and synthesize feedback from internal and external stakeholders 

• Act as the voice of the customer throughout the product lifecycle 

Payments & Platform Growth 

• Contribute to the evolution of ValPay’s embedded payments platform 

• Support integrations with third-party systems, APIs, and SaaS products 

• Ensure alignment with security, compliance (e.g., PCI), and performance standards 

Continuous Improvement & Innovation 

• Identify opportunities to improve product functionality, usability, and scalability 

• Leverage data and insights to inform product decisions 

• Stay current with industry trends in payments, fintech, and SaaS 

What You Bring 

• 3–6+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role 

• Experience working in agile development environments 

• Strong ability to translate business needs into technical requirements 

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills 

• Experience working closely with engineering teams on software products 

• Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making 

Nice-to-Have 

• Experience in payments, fintech, or embedded finance 

• Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and technical product environments 

• Understanding of compliance and security requirements (e.g., PCI) 

• Experience working in high-growth or SaaS environments
