About the Role
We are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to drive innovation in mental health clinical research. This role is designed for a scientist-practitioner who is passionate about translating complex research findings into both high-impact academic publications and real-world product tools.
You will have the unique opportunity to conduct research at scale, leveraging our platform to elevate the voice and impact of independent mental health practitioners. This is a "bench-to-bedside" role for the digital age: you will work at the intersection of internal clinical, data, and product teams and external academic partners to prove, and improve, the impact of mental health care in the modern world through integrating science with technology innovation.
Responsibilities
- Drive Clinical Innovation: Design and execute rigorous research studies focused on mental health outcomes, utilizing large-scale datasets to identify trends and clinical best practices.
- Translate Insights: Move fluidly between writing for peer-reviewed academic journals and collaborating with product teams to build evidence-based tools for practitioners.
- Research at Scale: Lead initiatives that demonstrate the real-world impact of independent practice, helping to shape the narrative of the mental health field through data.
- Bridge Partnerships: Act as a key liaison between internal clinical research teams and external academic collaborators to ensure scientific validity and cross-pollination of ideas.
- Impact Development: Identify opportunities to integrate AI-forward methodologies into research workflows and product features to enhance provider efficiency and patient outcomes.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Educational Background: PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Public Health, or a related behavioral health field.
- Research Expertise: Proven experience in mental health outcome and impact research, with strong experience in research design and execution.
- Methodological Versatility: Mastery of both qualitative and quantitative analysis skills; you should be as comfortable with thematic coding as you are with longitudinal data modeling.
- Analytic Rigor: Deep experience handling complex datasets and translating them into clear, evidence-based narratives.
- Strategic Communication: Ability to present findings to diverse audiences, from academic researchers to product managers and executive leadership.
Nice to Have
- Clinical Experience: Direct experience providing clinical care, offering a "practitioner-first" lens to your research questions.
- Tech-Forward Approach: Experience with, or a strong interest in, the integration of AI and machine learning into clinical research development.
- Direct Outcomes Research: Specific experience in clinical outcomes research within a healthcare or health-tech environment.
- Publication Record: A track record of publishing in high-impact, peer-reviewed mental health journals.
