Symmetrio is recruiting on behalf of a growing outpatient radiology organization seeking a skilled MRI Coil Repair Technician to join their technical operations team.

This role is ideal for a hands-on biomedical or RF-focused technician with direct experience repairing GE and Siemens MRI coils. The technician will play a critical role in restoring coil performance to OEM standards, minimizing clinical downtime, and ensuring imaging reliability across customer sites.

This is a full-time position based in the Phoenix, AZ area. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. The salary range is $70,000–$100,000, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair MRI RF coils including head, spine, body, extremity, and phased-array coils
  • Perform detailed electrical, mechanical, and RF diagnostics to isolate component-level failures
  • Repair and recondition coils to meet or exceed OEM performance standards
  • Conduct functional testing and quality assurance using coil testing equipment and signal verification tools
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and repair records
  • Support preventive maintenance initiatives and assist with coil inventory management
  • Collaborate with MRI technologists, biomedical staff, and engineering teams to reduce equipment downtime
  • Identify recurring failure trends and provide recommendations for process or repair improvements

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience repairing MRI coils (GE and Siemens platforms preferred)
  • BMET certification or equivalent biomedical/electronics technical background
  • Experience working with phased-array and multi-channel coil systems
  • Familiarity with MRI system integration, RF shielding, and safety protocols

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of RF electronics, signal integrity, and coil circuitry
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, network analyzers, and coil test equipment
  • Knowledge of QA procedures and performance validation processes
