About this Midweight Integrated Designer (July '26) role at Small Axe

Small Axe · Onsite · London, England, United Kingdom

A Midweight Integrated Designer at Small Axe works within our Campaigns Delivery team. This core team and extended network is made up of campaigners, digital experts, designers, press advisors, filmmakers and content creators who work collaboratively to produce powerful campaigns.

You will work across a variety of campaigns, from trade union actions like Amazon’s first unionisation drive in the UK, to issue based campaigns like Free School Meals for All and Refugees Welcome, to large scale public mobilisation events like the Together Alliance March.

You are a campaigner. But your tools are InDesign, Illustrator, Canva, CapCut and anything else you can lay your hands on to make creative that moves people to act on the most pressing issues of our time.

There is no silver bullet for a winning campaign. That’s why we use multiple crafts and tactics to move our campaigns forward. We’re at our best when we’re working across our three core disciplines – organising, digital and creative – to make maximum impact. An ability to understand and integrate your ideas across these disciplines will give you the tools to respond to any strategic challenge.

As an integrated designer, you’ll join a multidisciplinary and highly collaborative delivery team, focused on winning progressive campaigns.

About Small Axe

Small Axe is a not-for-profit campaigning organisation based in London. We have one goal: to create movements that are progressive, hopeful and powerful, to inspire people to act on the most pressing issues of our time.

We bring together bold creative, communications and organising to run integrated end-to-end campaigns.

We've won billions for schools, raised millions for progressive candidates and causes and mobilised tens of thousands of people to make their voices heard.

Right now we’re working on impactful campaigns with the National Education Union; the International Rescue Committee; on voter registration and more.

We are a small, passionate and collaborative team of campaigners, designers and operations folk, and we're looking for people to join us.

We’re proud that our work has played a crucial role in the last three General Elections. For Green Party MP Caroline Lucas, winning her 2015 re-election campaign.

At the 2017 General Election, we ran the two most effective third-party campaigns against School Cuts and for a Progressive Alliance.

And in 2019, across three campaigns for the labour movement, pushing education funding to the third top issue behind Brexit and the NHS, and making sure no-one was denied their right to vote with canivote.org.uk.
