What You'll Do
As a Claims Manager, you'll lead a team of claims professionals responsible for handling complex Auto, Property, Bodily Injury, Casualty, Litigation, and Catastrophe claims. You'll provide operational leadership while ensuring claims are handled fairly, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, develop, and motivate a team of Claims Adjusters and Claims Specialists.
- Plan and oversee the daily operations of assigned claims teams.
- Review and provide guidance on highly complex claims involving:
- Auto
- Property
- Bodily Injury
- Casualty
- Litigation
- Catastrophe losses
- Ensure claims are investigated, evaluated, reserved, negotiated, and resolved appropriately within settlement authority.
- Monitor claim quality, operational performance, and compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct claim file audits and implement best practices to improve claim handling consistency.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, legal counsel, and business leaders to resolve complex claim matters.
- Foster a customer-focused culture that delivers exceptional service while balancing financial stewardship and risk management.
- Support catastrophe response efforts and provide leadership during high-volume or crisis situations.

Required Qualifications
- Several years of progressively responsible claims experience handling increasingly complex claims through investigation, negotiation, settlement, arbitration, and/or trial.
- Leadership experience managing or supervising claims professionals.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Claims investigations
- Coverage analysis
- Reserving practices
- Litigation management
- Claims regulations
- Experience analyzing operational metrics and using data to improve team performance.
- Understanding of applicable state and federal insurance regulations.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with legal counsel and internal business partners.
- Strong decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coaching abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and effective while managing competing priorities and time-sensitive situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Typically 5–8 years of claims experience in Auto and/or Property insurance.
- 3–4 years of claims leadership or management experience.
- Multi-line claims experience is highly preferred.

- Normal office or remote work environment.
- Travel is required and may increase during catastrophe events.

Salary Range:
$89,800.00 - $125,500.00 annually + bonus
Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
