Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabrication Welder to join a busy fabrication shop specializing in miscellaneous metal products. This position involves welding, grinding, and finishing custom metal components while maintaining high standards for quality and safety.
The ideal candidate has experience with MIG welding, can interpret fabrication drawings, and is comfortable working with overhead material handling equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding on miscellaneous metal products, including stairs, railings, and other fabricated components.
Grind and finish welds to meet quality and appearance standards.
Operate an overhead crane to safely move materials throughout the shop.
Inspect completed welds and fabricated parts for defects and quality requirements.
Read and interpret fabrication drawings and technical documents.
Follow established welding procedures and safe work practices.
Maintain an organized work area while meeting production schedules.
Required Qualifications
Previous experience with MIG welding.
Experience using a variety of welding equipment and welding techniques.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
Basic math and geometry skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Dependable attendance with a positive, self-motivated work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional welding certification.
Experience fabricating or welding stair stringers, stair systems, or porch components.
Previous experience working with miscellaneous metals.
