- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive quality control programs supporting maintenance, repair, and modification activities
- Lead the daily execution of mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities for air‑cushion vehicles, aircraft systems, or shipboard mechanical equipment.
- Supervise maintenance technicians and mechanics, ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to procedures, and safe work practices.
- Assign and monitor tasks, provide technical direction, and ensure maintenance actions are performed correctly and efficiently.
- Conduct and oversee corrective and preventative maintenance, component replacements, system inspections, alignments, and operational tests.
- Diagnose complex mechanical issues and guide the team through resolution using established technical methods and best practices.
- Validate work completion through functional checks, inspections, and documentation.
- Implement and enforce mechanical maintenance quality control measures.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable workmanship and technical standards, including J‑STD‑001, IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑A‑620, NAVSEA Welding Certification practices, Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) procedures
- Identify maintenance discrepancies, perform root‑cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to sustain high-quality maintenance outcomes.
- Utilize the Navy 3‑M Preventative Maintenance Program to plan, document, and validate maintenance requirements.
- Ensure accurate and complete maintenance recordkeeping, including logs, system documentation, and maintenance index system entries.
- Ensure that preventative maintenance schedules are followed, documented, and updated in accordance with procedural requirements.
- Train personnel on proper use of 3‑M tools, forms, and reporting processes.
- Enforce strict adherence to safety practices, hazard controls, and maintenance worksite protocols.
- Identify risks involving equipment, tooling, maintenance processes, or personnel, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Conduct worksite inspections to ensure compliance with safety policies and mechanical system maintenance standards.
- Mentor and train junior technicians in mechanical maintenance procedures, quality requirements, and proper documentation practices.
- Support qualification tracking, skills development, and certification maintenance for assigned personnel.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence, safety, and pride in workmanship.
- Other duties as related to the business functions of FWG Solutions, as assigned
Education:
- High School Degree Required
Licenses & Certifications:
- Active Secret Security Clearance
Experience:
- Five (5) or more years performing maintenance, repair, or modification of air‑cushion vehicles, aircraft, or U.S. Navy shipboard mechanical systems.
- Five (5) years of concurrent experience supervising mechanical maintenance and repair of air‑cushion vehicles or aircraft.
- Strong technical background in mechanical systems, component‑level maintenance, and operational restoration.
- Proven experience implementing and enforcing quality control measures within a mechanical maintenance environment.
- Essential familiarity with: J‑STD‑001, IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑A‑620, NAVSEA Welding Certification standards and Non‑Destructive Testing methods
- Demonstrated ability to apply these standards to mechanical maintenance activities to improve processes and ensure quality
- Extensive experience using the Navy 3‑M Preventative Maintenance Program, including: Proper documentation and record keeping, Maintenance scheduling, Verification and reporting
- Ability to train others in 3‑M compliance
